Rating: Summary: THE Selling Guide Review: This book is the essential manual for the Art of Selling. I have gone to many selling classes and they do not have the complete end-to-end content of this book. Great for any new salesperson or for an experienced person like myself who needs to energize and improve himself.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Sales Training Manual Ever Written Review: This book teaches you everything you need to know to thrive in sales. I don't know too many successful salespeople who haven't read this book.
Rating: Summary: Door to Door Review: This is a great read if you're selling things door to door. I don't recommend this for the serious-minded major account sales person.
Rating: Summary: A MUST-OWN MASTERPIECE!!! Review: This is a NO BRAINER!!! Tom Hopkins is a nuts-and-bolts expert! This book guides you down the path of success in a fun, easy and quite delightful way. Your competition has probably read it twice...
Rating: Summary: Fantastic book. I've bought 20 copies for friends, staff. Review: This is justly regarded as the best single sales training book. I've bought numerous copies to train and motivate staff, and would be interested in others' opinions. 5 stars definitely in my view.
Rating: Summary: The best book on the subject of selling. Review: Tom Hopkins makes the point that we all have something to sell, whether it's just a matter of deciding where we want to go for dinner. "Would you rather go to Mel's Diner or the Blue Bucket?" Selling is helping someone make the decision we want them to make ( because it is the best decision for them ) and it is about asking not telling. This book will improve your sales and change your life. It's a classic. Reno Lovison Marketing Consultant.
Rating: Summary: If you could only afford one book on sales, this is it! Review: Tom's book is packed with great teaching. As he says, when you really study the techniques and practice them until they become second nature to you, your income will soon take off! My first serious reading of this book was about 5 years ago. Tom's techniques for handling objections increased my sales tremendously. When I bought H.T.M.T.A.O.S., I paid about $16.00 for it. Using what I learned, my income increased so much that the increase has paid for all the sales and personal development books and tapes I have ever owned or seminars I've attended. A student's sales education certainly shouldn't stop with this book, but it's by far the best place I know to begin, and I've read many books on the subject. Tom really is a Champion, and a very nice guy to boot.

Become one of the best 5 Sales people in your organization. I saw Tom in a Live seminar yesterday in Sydney Australia, he truly is the master of Sales, i recommend his books and audio products to all my fello employee's. If you want to get ahead in life, you must get educated. Brian Tracy is another great teacher i regard him to be up there with the best, read the book 'strategys for selling ' An excellent book, its not only about selling but its about how to become sucessful in all areas of your life. I HOPE I HAVE BEEN HELPFUL. GOD BLESS....
Rating: Summary: Old techniques = Useless techniques Review: Unfortunately, Tom Hopkins is a victim of his success of the 1980s. This used to be a great reference book for selling. Sadly, that is no longer true. Buyers are so used to dealing with the techniques mentioned here that the buyers can actually get angry when these selling strategies are attempted. Everybody knows these closes and has heard them for years. If you as a salesperson want to master your craft, you need to drop the old image of a 'peddler.' If you attempt the tricks in this book, you'll brand yourself as an amateur. Save your money on this one, it's old news.
Rating: Summary: outdated and manipulative Review: When I started in sales I was encouraged to read this book. I started to have real success when I threw it out. The ideas are manipulative and coercive and only appear to upset customers who have heard it all before a thousand times. In this book customers are just "marks" not people with real ideas and real needs. It probably worked in the early eighties but customers have changed. Time to retire this old chestnut.
