Summary: Buy this book! It works
Review: I saw Tom Hopkins at a "Success '95" seminar in Louisville.
His performance was electric. After the seminar I purchased his book, "How to Master the Art of Selling." I have read it cover to cover, and I have studied the material. I can tell you that it works. Whether you're in sales or just want to improve your interpersonal skills, Tom's book is great. His pointers on how to address rejection, prospecting, etc. are right on the mark. I recommend it highly.

Summary: THE BEST INVESTMENT ANYONE CAN DO
Review: I started my own Real State Busines in 1,992 and read this book in 1,996 for the first time. Now I have 19 employes and make 10 times more money than before. My busines still growing.

In my name and all family member's: Thank you Mr. Hopkins, your work have made a big difference for us. You still are the only one and really proffesional "Sales Trainer". The rest are just "Motivators".

With my best wishes for you and everyone around you,

Summary: An excellent Book For Students of the Sales Process
Review: I wouldn't have made the decision to get into sales without this book. Everything you need from prospecting, presenting, closing, to developing the right attitude are in this book.

Tom Hopkins is a winner and a giant in the field of selling. Even veterans will get something of value from this book.

Summary: Coffee is for Closers
Review: If you have ever wondered what it takes to be a Champion closer, Mr. Hopkins will show you how to put your fingers on the laces of the ball. I work with many Ivy League Law & Business School alumni, and it's amazing how consistently my ideas are carried thanks to the Porcupine, the Tie-down, and Mr. Hopkins' other "cross-examination" techniques. Mr. Hopkins is right: "If your tactics are sound, they can't fight you." Buy this book. Then buy the 24 tape audio series. The latter is a ten hour tour-de-force that will change your life. Tape #24 on Goal Setting is a classic.

Summary: Ask Excellent Questions and live a prosperous journey
Review: In a world of performance-based junkies. Becoming the guru in our respective fields is a goal that we all work smart and hard to achieve. Pharmaceutical, Financial, Retail, Real Estate, Automotive....whatever the industry...we all want and strive for #1. This is one of the many business "tools" that probably everyone has but if you don't have one...get one. One thing that this book allowed me to change was as sales people we all look at the bottom line which is closing and of course that is the point but one vital element I've learned by reading over and over and applying is caring about what my clients care about. When learning to ask questions that are direct but not imposing you learn what your clients really desire and that's one of the many components that develops genuine relationships...which doesn't require any closing. "Tom Hopkins" need I say more?

Summary: Don't waste your time with this one.
Review: In its day this book was okay. Now it's dated and its advice is somewhat manipulative. Try Miller & Heimann's books. They are much better and will allow you to create productive sales relationships.

Summary: Of all books...It's a timeless reference! Great Pick-me-up!
Review: Just about every page is exciting to read, because you can feel yourself getting phsyched up. I bought this book in Aug. '96. Read it once and reviewed it a year or so later. And then several brief reviews after that. I just recently picked it up again (Feb. '98) to start reading it from front to back. It IS timeless, it is a reference for ALL times...90's, 2000, etc. ***Especially good if you ARE a Champion sales person and have drifted into a slump. JUST get the book and read it. You'll see the results. I am Car Salesman (#1 - 2 yrs in a row..'96 & '97) in a top store. I also handle all of the Internet Sales for this store (a breed in itself!). I have read many books on selling and this IS tops. So if you're like me, the goal of hitting over the $100k/yr mark, we all need this reference book in order to hit this paycheck amount!

Summary: Best sales book ever!
Review: Most salesbooks offer some closes and alot of useless stuff designed to pump you up. This book breaks down the selling process from greet to close and shows you how to properly do it. It's not written for any one type of sales career, but applies to many. My only problem was that my salesmanager wouldn't let me implement some of the tactics, insisting that I do it his way. I've used most of the tactics in this book, and while they won't always work (nothing always works) they have worked for me more often than not. This book should be mandatory reading for all new salesmen and experienced salesmen should review it periodically to brush up on their skills. When you finish with this, join his monthly cassette club. He takes a different subject every month and goes through it thoroughly.
