Summary: This Book Changed the Way I think About Money and Success.
Review: After finishing this book I felt inspired. I realized I fit into several of the underearner traits that Barbara talks about it her book. Mostly I always undervalue my worth and honestly was afraid of being more and making more.

In the last few weeks I started using her strategies and I've seen a change in the way I feel about money ... and all of the sudden more opportunities seem to be presenting themselves. It's too soon to know if it will boost my earning power ... but it certainly has changed the way I look at success and money.

I'd recommend this book to anyone who not only wants to make more money ... but who wants to feel more successful in life.

Summary: Realize what you're worth.
Review: An incredibly inspirational book. I've read many books on how to be a successful woman intellectually, professionally, and financially, and this one is definitely a favorite. I've emailed many passages to friends and even my already business-savvy mother.

The book is phenomenal. It concentrates on your attitude and your mentality rather than saying things like "be a corporate lawyer" or "invest in these stocks." It allows guidance and inspiration while leaving room for you to figure things out for your own situation, and this is surely the most effective way to embrace change so that it lasts.

The mantra I got from this book that has already changed my life is "Feel the fear, have the doubts, go for it anyway." It was while reading this book I realized that after attending a very prestigious and exclusive university and getting my dream job in New York City that it actually isn't what I want at all. I decided that what I really want to do is freelance work in another field, and within just three weeks I have acquired four clients and two more are considering. This book is what made me stop listening to the "should's" in my head and instead listen to my gut that says "Go for it.", and within a few months I'm sure the money will follow.

I hope to be back six months from now to confirm that I have doubled my income and am much happier with my career. --wink wink-- keep an eye out for me.

Summary: a must-have
Review: I have made a commitment to increase my income and reading this book has given me a great start. Inspiring, honest, and wise, Barbara Stanny gives readers practical advice on how to earn more and feel better about oneself. And she includes personal stories from high-earning women that show it really can be done. I intend to turn back to this book again and again for motivation. Highly recommended.

Summary: Helpful book
Review: I have read and used the amazon ratings for every book that I have bought - this book inspired me to add my review to the list of favorable ones out there. I was at the point in my career where I was about to say "enough" and this book has inspired me that I need not quit my current job, but change how I work and communicate in order to move ahead. This book helps you find your confidence again and reminds you to value yourself and show others why they too should value you and PAY you for your work! Stanny reviews concepts that we all know, but don't practice and put together in our work life. She provides simple plans to help you on your way no matter what you do. I plan on sharing this book with many of my friends.

Summary: worthy of far more stars
Review: I just finished reading this book this morning and I would say my life has already changed! In fact, by the time I had reached the second chapter, I knew I was going to buy Stanny's book "Prince Charming Isn't Coming".

Stanny has compiled, researched and presented everything women have read in little bits and pieces in magazines, seen on the news, etc but never given in a way that makes women see that they can actually apply it to their own lives and come out victorious.

Stanny interviews the women out there who are earning six figures, learns of the attitudes that they carried around beforehand and how they broke through it. How many readers secretly think if they had money they would turn evil, or that women who earn a lot had to be mean and nasty and cold to do so? More to the point, how many readers are willing to change that thinking so they can start earning their worth?

Stanny says to write down what you want and recognize your worth, learn to speak up for yourself and negotiate because just doing a great job -- even if you earn a company the most money by bringing in more business than everyone else -- will not get you a raise and a promotion.

So I have only three things to say:

1. Thank you, Barbara Stanny!
2. Read this book
3. I am going to earn six figures by this time next year.

Summary: A standout
Review: I've been reading a little of this book every day to motivate me. And it's working! The women's stories are very interesting and Stanny manages to find the key elements of their success and bring them to the reader.

This book is well written and enlightening.

Summary: Finally a book on successful women that has depth!
Review: If you are a woman (though I think this book would help men as well) and want to earn more, this book will provide the information you need. In fact, the author, with the knowledge she gained from writing this book, dramatically increased her own income. So many books that profess to help you earn more are just fluff. This book has depth. Of course you need to follow the advice given, but the author handholds your way there. I found much advice that I can immediately implement. One of the best career/business books I've read and I've read many!

Summary: It's Not Really About the Money . . . And It Is
Review: In the end, as Stanny says, it's not really about the money, it's about the satisfaction of being all that you can be - and age doesn't matter. When I bought the book, I already had a six-figure consulting job. But since it seemed like pure luck that I got the it, I had no idea how to replicate the job when the contract ends. Reading the book, I realized that, actually, it was not about luck. I got where I am the same way as all of the other women. I made room for "good luck" (which really means that, having left my job, colleagues, seeing that I was free, offered interesting little opportunities and I was available to take advantage of them). My intent was to have more satisfaction and money. When the real opportunity came (the "good luck"), I recognized it and grabbed it, even as my colleagues walked away. When it required that I work beyond my comfort zone, I said yes. And, having done my research, I asked for more money than I had ever imagined. I think that, had I picked up this book two years ago, I would not have had the courage to walk away from a "good" job, even if it was making me miserable, or to have asked for the kind of money I eventually got. Those two things took outside support. But anyone can seek that support if she finds herself stuck. Now that I understand the relevance of what I did, I understand what to do next: simply do it all over again, but at the next level. This consulting job is only a step to my real dream. Having mentally let go of the job, the way forward is becoming clear, and the people I need are arriving on my doorstep. Amazing. Besides the process, I found the book to be full of gems. One pearl is that emotion follows action, not the other way around. Act, then feel good. Do not wait to feel good before acting. That small thing is adding quality to my life every day. This book is a keeper, and I intend to keep rereading it until I have wrung out every bit of value.
