Rating: Summary: Bible of Water Distribution Modeling Review: This is a fantastic book that can be used by modeler at any stage. It discusses theory and application of various upto date modeling techniques. The discussions on GIS integration, Water Security, Transients and SCADA are awesome.
Rating: Summary: Haestad Press Does it Again..... Review: Advanced Water Distribution Modeling & Management is a very comprehensive text discussing everything you need to know about water system management. I particularly liked the sections on using GIS, transient analysis, and gathering field testing data.
Rating: Summary: Excellent second edition! Review: I read the first WDM edition from cover to cover. Now that I have the Advanced WDM, there is so much new material to digest!I especially like the new chapters on GIS (helps us non-GIS folks see the light) and especially TRANSIENT analysis. Its very detailed with technical data, but the illustrations make this an easy chapter to grasp. I would recommend this book to any civil engineer, not only water modelers.
Rating: Summary: Great engineering resource Review: This text is very well written, precise, and covers a broad range of topics on the subject of water distribution. It is great for professional modelers, like myself. It is a very resourceful piece and it is broken up by fun cartoons. It's a must for engineers!
Rating: Summary: #1 engineering resource Review: This text is the king of all engineering resources! It is the best book I have found of it's kind. It covers many engineering topics and is very straightforward.
Rating: Summary: A Must Buy Review: This is a must buy for anyone who needs a practical engineering resource!
Rating: Summary: A practical text for real world practice Review: Haestad Methods has provided an excellent text for practical use by engineers. This text is best used in combination with Haestad Method's WaterCAD Software, but still provides enough to be valuable to any engineer who works with water distribution systems. This book is an improvement over the previous "Water Distribution Modeling" text and effectively replaces it. This book is a very useful resource for any civil engineering office that designs water distribution systems. The WaterCAD software program is also fantastic.
Rating: Summary: The Best "How To" Book on Modeling Review: This reference has given us an edge in satisfying client needs from the simplest capacity study to the most complex model. It has helped make our competent modelers more efficient and the up-and coming modeler function like a pro. Many common questions and problems are anticipated and clearly answered. Because the book so thoroughly covers system management issues, I believe many parts should be required reading for water resources engineers.
Rating: Summary: Advanced Water Distribution Modeling and Management - Review Review: Great reference book! As a Junior Engineer, I've found this book extremely helpful...I only wish I would've had a text like this while I was still in school.
Rating: Summary: Great Reference! Review: I have recently recieved the Advanced Water Disribution Modeling and Management book. It has been a great reference book with up to date information. I have been involved in recent modeling projects, during which time, I used the book extensively. I continue to use this book on a regular basis.
