Rating: Summary: A splendid textbook Review: I am in Dr. Pinar's EDCI 2001 class at Louisiana State University. I must say that most of the students who have taken the class despise this book, but I must say that I really loved the book. It successfully explains many of the issues that affect American education, such as Southern politics and culture, anti-intellectualism, and race and gender issues. While my experiences in Dr. Pinar's class have led me to believe that he is a mediocre lecturer and a poor test-maker, his book is absolutely awesome.
