Rating: Summary: a few useful ideas mixed with chaos/fractal babble Review: This book contains some simple, useful insights about recognizing trends, but I found the author's attempts at dressing up his methodology with a lot of psuedoscientific jargon off-putting and utterly unconvincing. He could have dispensed the same commonsensical advice without making unsupported and pretentious connections between his work and chaos theory.
Rating: Summary: Bennett of Traderscoach.com applauds New Trading Dimensions Review: This book presents a sound trading system. Read it carefully. Once the actual trading approach is learned, you will then relize that your trading results will depend upon your psychology. Bill Williams and Justine Williams have written a great book. It is clear, concise and fun to read. I rate this book 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: Excellent presentation of a complete trading methodology Review: This book provides a clear description of an excellent trend-following trading plan. Novel indicators are introduced and explained. Although some of the indicator definitions are hard to follow, I received a rapid response from Dr. William's company through e-mail answering my questions about one of the indicators. Although the book frequently refers to the Investor's Dream software sold by Profitunity, the concepts of the trading plan are fully disclosed and can be implemented in other technical analysis software. The aspects of the book relating to psychology are also sound and informative. This is definately one of the best books on trading that I have read.
Rating: Summary: Just as bad as his first book. Review: This is not much more than a copy his first book with a few new paragraphs. This book is a total waste of time. The author makes no attempt to explain chaos theory other than to say is is a new way to look at information. The author should be ashamed of using the word chaos in the title of this book. His big claim to fame is saying he discovered the "Elliot Wave Fractal." The actual strategy is nothing more than a trend following system using 3 lagged moving averages and some simple rules. I have noticed that most of the Wiley trading books are quite poor. You would be much better reading the books by Conners, Linda-Bradford, or even Cooper.
Rating: Summary: If you really want to learn about trading....and more Review: This is the second of Bill's books and only further refines his trading methods. I've read both books, taken the home study course, and also done a private tutorial with Bill....the net result is that not only has my trading improved, but also my whole outlook on life. Bill spends alot of time on the psychological aspect of trading, being in focus, etc. and demonstrates that we (ourselves) are the biggest problem in trading for profit. I've seen some of the previous reviews on his books where people trash his "downhome" style prose, but I have to come to the conclusion that they have not truly looked into the real content of his methods. In other words, if you're just looking for the "Magic indicator" or the current "Quick buck" scam, then there are hundreds of other books or courses you can purchase. But, if you want to spend some worthwhile study time.....this is the best system that I've come across in my 20+ years of floor trading! (...and trading has truly become FUN for me because of Bill Williams).
Rating: Summary: We Started A Newsletter Using The Strategies In This Book Review: What is unique about New Trading Dimensions is that Bill Williams teaches traders and investors how to maximize their profits by staying with and adding to winning positions. Of equal, if not greater importance, the book provides a series of sell signals so that you have guide lines for taking profits and cutting losses when appropriate. We liked New Trading Dimensions so much that we started a daily newsletter that uses many of the strategies in New Trading Dimensions. We tell our clients to buy the book and read it carefully. New Trading Dimensions teaches you how to trade stocks that are emerging from good bases (the "sleeping alligator." But it does not tell you how to find such stocks. We scan over 8000 stocks every day looking for stocks with apprpriate sleeping alligators. We then help our clients to identify fractal buy and fractal short signals and subsequent add and sell signals for the stocks on our list. Rating: Summary: Think before you buy this book..... Review: When I first read this book (it was my second book on trading) I thought it was the Holy Grail and that trading would be the easiest thing in the world. It is now 1 year since I read it and I must admit that I have read over 15 more books on trading since then....today I can only say that the techniques outlined in the book are far too simple and too far away from the real world. When you code the systems you will find out that none of them are working and personally I don't think that Bill Williams has ever made a single dime trading...at least not with the systems outlined on the book.

Rating: Summary: Do not buy this book! Review: Williams uses big words (fractals, chaos, quantum mechanics) to impress the reader, but says nothing meaningful.I found this book a waste of time and money
