Summary: Great book!
Review: This update of Beth's book provides more of a good thing. It really helped me sort through the issues and the personal finacial maze. Beth is totally in touch w our generation. P.S. the online resources are great!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: all the answers to the questions that i was afraid to ask

Summary: Old woman trying to appeal to young readers
Review: Silly retread of her original book which only did well because it was the First one of its kind geared toward young adults. There are now better books on the market. Check out Capitalist Pig!

Summary: An must-have for anyone in need of basic financial info
Review: This is a great book! I'm in my thirties and this book introduced me to the basics when I needed help buying insurance, saving for my retirement and investing in securities. I have given it to several of my twenty-something siblings and friends, who, because of the easy, readable information in this book, now have a clue about their finances. I recommend it!

Summary: A great introduction!
Review: I LOVED the first Get a Financial Life and bought copies for all my friends. The new version is just as good, probably even better because it is finally UP TO DATE again with new advice on Roth IRAs and other innovations. Beth explains everything step by step without leaving out anything important. This is a great resource for beginners!

Summary: Nothing new or relevant to 20 and 30 year olds
Review: This is just a repackaging of Beth's old book. If you want 100 web sites, there are many places you can find them without having to buy this book. In fact, financial web sites will supply them at no charge. Sorry, Beth, but you're now middle aged, so get a new job because you no longer speak for those of us still under 35.

Summary: Tries to do too much and fails
Review: Her first book was innovative and original--she was the first gen xer trying to speak to our generation.. This sequel is just a rip off. She's too old to be of interest to 20 somethings or 30 somethings for that matter (you might as well read Jane Bryant Quinn's book if you want an old woman's perspective). This is a cheap attempt to cash in on her earlier work and not worth your time or money. Our generation has matured and learned much more about money so it's too bad Beth wasn't smart enough to notice.

Summary: Outstanding intro to finance
Review: This is the book I recommend as a follow up to David Chilton's The Wealthy Barber as an intro to finance. The style is fresh and lively, and the information usefully arranged and communicated in a way that doesn't scare off beginners. Ms. Kobliner's priorities are right on track, and she lays out a sensible and realistic plan for financial stability.

Summary: EXCELLENT! A MUST HAVE.
Review: This fantastic book has more than debt reducing and savings advice. It consists of very readable information about investments, taxes, and insurance. All the things we HAVE to know about (but either do not know where to begin reading or dread having to learn about) are laid out in an organized and simple manner in this book. Because of what I've learned from this book I can thoroughly understand anything in my life that concerns money and I can go on to read more indepth financial information.
