Summary: Fundamentals of Management: Essential Concepts and Applicati
Review: This book is a useful tool for any person, student or other. It is easy to read, and the charts make learning easy and enjoyable. By adding the definations onto the side of the pages, the auhtors saved their readers from frustration. For me, the quizes turned what could have been a plain old text book into a way to discover who the reader is through learning. Studying was made easier by the objectives being answered in the back of the chapter; and I knew that i was ready for a test after I took the useful chapter test. I plan to keep this book because it is a very useful tool that will help me through out my career, and I know that there is concepts that i over looked and would like to learn more about. The only changes that i would suggest for this book would be to put the quizes together in the back, when i was reading or studying for a test the quizes would get into my way. Then when i would take the quizes, i had to go back and forthe trying to find them all. Also I found the "Details on a Managemnet Classic" (eg. chapter 5 page 141) and "Managers Who Made A Difference" to be very interrupting, and unuseful. I would recomand this book to be in all classrooms, in or out of college.

Summary: Its an OK text book
Review: This book is pretty useful. It displays the terms really well. It sometimes gets confusing though. I plan to sell this book back when I am done with it. The concepts in it were pretty easy to understand. The graphics and illustrations were the most interesting part of the book. The text is comparable to other text books. Generally all text books are the same. It has not really influenced my career choice, cause I knew what I wanted to do before I took this course. There were not any special chapters.

Summary: Not Bad
Review: This book was not too bad. The material was presented in an easy to follow manner and the graphs were at times helpful, but not always. Though the information was all relevant and effective, it did little to keep my attention. It still felt like a reading assigment every time I opened it and it often took multiple sittings just to finish one chapter. I can't rate the book too low, however. The authors tried to make the subject interesting and relevant, but it didn't necessarily work for me. Butit was effective and it did give me a better understanding for how managers today use the concepts discovered by those of the past to better direct their respective employees.

Summary: Detailed Material
Review: This book was very detailed in giving information. It covered quite a few areas of management. Sometimes with the wording used and the context it sometimes took me at least 2 or 3 times reading it before I fully understood what was being said. However this was the first business class I have ever taken and my limited knowledge probably had something to do with that. All in all it was a fair book.

Summary: Four Star Mangement Book
Review: This Fundamentals of Management book is a great introduction to management for college students. It introduces the material in an easy to read yet very informative manner. The chapter summaries are a great way to ensure that I know the main points of each chapter. The charts and diagrams fit in well with the information being explained. Also, the current business situations, which are given to supplement the reading on various pages, helped to understand real world management applications. However, I did find the chapters to be somewhat long, perhaps a more consolidated approach to explain the material would be beneficial. Overall, I feel this book will help me in the long run in any career field I may choose to enter, not just management.

Summary: Didn't lack anything
Review: This was a good textbook. What I exceptionally liked was the quizzes at the end of the chapters and the summaries they really helped with studying. So many books put absolutely nothing in the summaries. Sometimes the book was a little hard to understand some of the business terms did not get explained very well, probably because the authors assumed it was already known. However, this was my first business class so I had to read it a few times more than necessary. All in all one of the better books of mine this semester.

Summary: Fundamentals of Management
Review: Throughout the course of my class time I have found the resources in this textbook to be a fountain of knowledge. The concepts that are portrayed in this book are helping me as a college student to develop into management material. Such things as Strategic Management, helps me not only to identify with my organizations needs and goals but my own as well. Plus, through the use of Gantt and load charts I can better keep track of my employees and their performance towards reaching a common goal. I highly recommend this book to anybody wanting to further their management knowledge and skills.

Summary: Lippelman's Review on Fundamental's of Management
Review: Thumbs up to the authors for isolating important vocabulary words and definitions on sides of pages outside of normal text. Summaries are excellent good reading for test taking. Review and discussion questions would be easier and nicer if listed answers in back of the book for reference and studying purposes. Testing your comprehension questions very nice to have answers for reference after taking the test yourself. Overall improvement could only be small possibly shorter chapters with less filler. Book teaches well and has enabled me and others to pass test's quite easily with little preparation. Book will also be effective in future after school during and after job search. Information useful. Thank you.

Summary: Fundamentals of Management
Review: Upon reading this book, I have learned many aspects of management that can be applied to every day life. For example, each chapter has a section entitled "Developing a Management Skill." These skills are appropriate not only for management but for all aspects of living. Some of the skills include: Becoming More Creative; Guidelines for Acting Ethically; and Building Trust. I have also found the test at the end of each chapter very effective in helping me review material for tests. There is also a section in each chapter called "Understanding Yourself." This section has helped me to determine certain career goals for my future. It has enabled me to be aware of the characteristics I posess. The overall setup of this book is very good, and I would reccommend it to anyone interested in business or management.
