Review: I really like this book, the way it is set up, the way it looks, and the way it is presented. The most useful part of the book was at the end of the chapters was a through chapter test. If every book I had was set up this way I think I would do very well in my classes. Each chapter was well explained and the illustrations and graphics were very good and learning oriented.

Review: I use the Second edition Fundamentals of Management book for my management class. I really like this and think that is helpful for people to understand the basic management principles and theroies. One thing that i have find very usefully in this boook is the exhibits. The exhibits have helped me understand more clearly different concepts that I would not of understood with out them. I also like the testing page that are found at the end of the chapters. They are a really big help in making sure I understand the main concepts that were covered in that certain chapter.I do plan on keeping this book after I have finished my class at the end of this semester. I will think that it will be an excellent source for me to use when I have started teaching.

Review: I used this book for a course entitled Business Management. In general, I enjoyed evaluating, discussing, and examining this book. The most useful features are the definitions and examples offered on effective business management. I found the summary definitions to the side of each paragraph extremely helpful when studying for a test. The one thing that I found least helpful and most difficult to comprehend were the green boxes at the end of each section. I do not plan to keep this book, because over the course of my studies I have outlined what I think is valuable information. I have no suggestions on how to improve in this book, because I feel it was written with language that the common person can easily comprehend. It was written with such a style that even high school students could benefit from. All of the difficult concepts were explained well and adequate examples were offered for each problem. The illustrations were different in style and successful in capturing the readers attention. This text is much more detailed and up to date than the books I am using in other courses. I do not think that this book has influenced my career choice. However, I did enjoy reading about the techniques and tips offered on how to be an effective and efficient manager of buisness. I especially appreciated the drawings and demonstrations offered for example, the exhibit 5-2, on the decision-making process. However, I did not like exhibit 4-9, on the break-even analysis. I felt that the graph was rather confusing and not to the point at all.

My favorite aspects were the definitions in the margins, the many exhibits (which included various charts and graphs) and the quizzes at the end of each chapter. These learning tools helped in note taking, better understanding of more difficult concepts and knowing what exactly I did and did not know. I also enjoyed the short "real world" managerial examples at the beginning of each chapter. I felt these stories helped me ease into the material I was about to read. Overall, I saw this book as a helpful and informative textbook.

Review: I used this textbook for a Business Management course offeredat HLG. My overall impression of this book is very good. The book iswritten in fairly good size print for those of us who despise readinglittle words. The cover of the book was very colorful and appealingto me as well. One of the most useful features of this book was thedefinitions located on the side of each page. These definitions camein quite handy when studying for tests and taking notes. I also foundthe small clips on the majority of the pages that related what we werereading to everyday life very interesting. I found these clips to behelpful because they helped me visualize the concepts discussed withinthat chapter in everyday society. The least helpful part of the textfor me was the stories that were at the beginning of every chapter. Ifelt as though these stories were too long and wordy for this book. Ialso felt that these were quite repetitious considering the smallerstories on most of the pages ... I cannot recommend any changes tothis book because honestly I feel as though it is one of the bestbooks I have ever used. The illustrations and the graphics within thebook are great. I believe the book has helped me learn thatmanagement is everywhere. In the work force of today, there is no wayto avoid management. The text also helped me to understand what it isthat I need to do in order to be an effective manager someday. Iparticularly liked th first chapter. I felt as though it set up agood introductory for the rest of the book. The exhibits in chapterone for example, were very explanatory as well as many othersthroughout the text. I also found the "Testing YourComprehension" sections of the book to be very helpful whenstudying for tests.

Summary: A good book to begin the study of management
Review: I'm a student form Hannibal LaGrange College. I'm taking Principles of Business Management with professor J. Schafer, where we are reading and studying this book. I think this is an outstanding book for anybody that wants to learn all about the management art. The contents and examples presented in this book are excellent for any management course. This book covers the fundamentals steps in any decision making process. The sequence of the chapters is perfect, and so the information and knowledge presented in each of them. You can also find summaries of the chapters that help you while you are studying. I think that this book can help as to become good managers and leaders, in order to be successful in our professional life.

Review: My name is Jeff Heeley and I'm a soph. at Hannibal-LaGrange college in Hannibal, MO. I have been currently studying with this text throughout the current fall semester in Principals of Business Management. I have rather enjoyed this text and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in Management, they could not only benefit from this book, but could also have a good time while doing so. The book is filled with tid-bits of knowledge that will help you in your excusion in Management. The author did a wonderful job explaining the material in a way that is easy and helpful. I would rate this book higher than others that I'm currently using in other related courses. I don't really think that this book has enfluenced my career choice, but it has been helpful none the less. Even if your not planning on being a manager, you could benefit from this book, in that everyone needs to know how to think like a manager, or how your manager is thinking.
