Summary: Review for Fundamentals of Business Management
Review: As a avid reader of this book I found the concepts to be of great use in the management world. Such things as the Break-Even Analysis, will aide in making sure taht all costs are covered when selling products. Also since reading this book I have determined that I clearly support Affirmative action programs and anything that will upgrade or improve the business. Another quality that I have learned through this book is how to not only delegate responsibility but also how to make problem solving teams. Through the use of these teams we can clearly balance out the productivity of the workers. I truly support and believe in the concepts taught in this book and recommend it to anybody interested.

Summary: Learning Tool
Review: Fundamentals of Management 2nd ed. by Robbins and De Cenzo was the text use for my Management course at Hannibal-LaGrange College. While using this book, I noticed that it had many definitions in the side margins. They were helpful to me to better understand and comprehend the material I was reading. The many exhibits through out the book made the material applicable to the business world. The exhibits helped me to learn visually. To test my comprehension, the text had helpful "Testing Your Comprehension" Quizzes at the end of each chapter. I found these helpful after taking in a lot of material, I was able to sort everything out and refresh the newly learned material. Though this book's good out weigh the bad, I would like to have seen the text and the corresponding exhibit on the same page, so that page flipping would not take place. Page flipping can cause the reader to lose interest and even concentration. My only other complaint was that it is in serious need of a face-lift, something that would attract the eye. The books overall appearance has the ability to make the reader want to read it more. Some suggestions would be to put a photograph on the front, use computer graphics in the book, and hardback to be more durable and more presentable. When writing this book, I believe that the authors did a wonderful job of making the difficult to understand material, easy for people to read and learn from it. Many different majors were in the class that I took and I do believe that each took with a better understanding of Management and how Managers function in the business world. In comparison to other books that I have used in other courses, I think that the material inside was excellent, but as I mentioned before, I think that it could use a face-lift. After studying the material that was inside the book, I believe that I will keep this book. The reason being, is that I think that once I get out into the work place, I will need to know how to work with others and how others work best together. This book has encouraged me to keep pursuing my career as an accountant. In my future profession, I assume that I will placed in a management position. I will be a "boss"/manager and have to know how to motivate my employees, make sure that the task is completed in an effective and efficient way and all the while encourage my employees to be innovative in the work place.

Summary: Fundamentals of Management
Review: Fundamentals of Management is a great book to get started in management. It covers everything that you would need to know. I like this book in particular because it has chapter tests at the end of every chapter so that you can kind of test yourself over what you had just did. I also liked how the definitions are out to the side of the reading as well as in bold in the reading. It makes it easy to find the words that you are looking for. I have learned a lot from this book. I went with some experience in managing and still learned something new every time I turned the page. I feel this is a great book to get started with in management.

Summary: Fundamentals of Management Review
Review: Fundamentals of Management is an excellent textbook. I purchased this book because it was the chosen textbook for the college course Principles of Business Management. It is written very well and the information is portrayed in a way that is easy to understand. The chapter summaries are very helpful, as are the questions at the end of each chapter. I really like that the important definitions are located in the margins. This is very helpful when preparing for a test. For the most part, the exhibits included in the chapters are very helpful. The interview and resume tips in Appendix B are very good and will help me not only in my management class but throughout my life as well. This textbook has been very helpful to me, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Summary: Textbook review: Fundamentals of Management
Review: Here is another review for another one of my classes, Principles of Business Management. The book is a lot easier to follow than the book I recently reviewed; "Marketing: Connecting with Customers." In addition to more fluent material, the end of each chapter has questions to help prepare the student for exams, whereas the marketing book does not. Another pro to the book is that the material covered is up-to-date, accurate, and very useful in today's management situations. 20 years ago, you couldn't really sit down and read/study a book to become a better manager, whereas today it is made possible to do so. Figures, charts, graphs, and examples are also very useful and helpful in studying for exams. Cons about the book is that a few activities or interactive CD-ROM would have made the material more enjoyable to learn about. Overall rating, 4 stars.

Summary: Fundamentals of Management
Review: I am currently enrolled in my first managment class at Harlaxton College. In this class, we use the textbook Fundamentals of Management by Stephen Robbins and David Decenzo. I have found this book to be very helpful for the first time management student. This book is easy to read and has many helpful diagrams to illustrate the points that are being made. I enjoy the real life stories at the beginning of the chapters and this helps me to relate what I learn in the classroom to what I will be experiencing in the real-world. I also appreciate the definitions that are provided in the margins of the pages. They help me to better understand the business jargon that is used throughout the book and this also allows me to retain more of the material. When it comes time to study for the test, I turn to the end of the chapters where there are helpful summaries and comprehension questions. I have learned alot from this book and I recommend it to anyone that is planning on going into a career in management.

Summary: This book has proved to be interesting and even enjoyable!
Review: I bought and read the book, Fundamentals of Management by Stephen P. Robbins and David A. De Cezno. I have found this book surprisingly interesting and enjoyable considering that I bought it for a college course. In fact, it has actually confirmed my desire to work in management after college. Throughout the book there are quizzes for self-assessment and tips for learning skills such as listening and planning good meetings. These quizzes and tips are helpful insight into the business world. Another part of the book that I enjoy is the short stories at the beginning of each chapter. They are a good representation of people in the business world. I like to read them to find out not just about the companies, but also how the companies were started. The charts and tables in the book are also very easy to understand. If I don't understand something in the reading, the charts can usually explain the same concept in easier terms. The authors also made learning easier by placing the vocabulary terms in the margins of the pages. This placement is much easier than some books that only have glossaries that you have to flip to the back of your book to find a word in. This book has definitely been helpful in my class. I even plan on keeping it after the class is over!

Summary: It proved to be interesting reading
Review: I bought Fundamentals of Management: Essential Concepts and Applications by Stephen P. Robbins and David A. De Cenzo for a class I am taking at college. At first I thought I wouldn't even read it, except to study for tests. I did end up reading the book, and for a book I thought would be pretty boring, it ended up being very interesting. I thought the most useful features of the book were the words written out to the side with their defenitions. They proved essential for quick references, especially when you are trying to take notes and listen at the same time. I also really benefited form the grpahs and charts that are through out the book. They explain some of the concepts better, than those that are written out in the text. There are also a lot of other useful assesment tests and little articles throughout the book. I was able to apply the article about how to hold successful meetings to my job. We have a lot of mettings, and sometimes we feel like we do not get anything done. I shared the information in my book about meeitngs with one of my managers and she picked up some new tips and information on how to hold successful meetings. The book was very understandable to read and the conceptes were clear. Some of the more difficult concepts to understand were explained well in either the text or the graphs. So if you did not totally understand one, you could look to the other for reference.
