Summary: Must Have Marketing Book
Review: This updated version of Caples masterpiece includes an incredible wealth of information. Excellent examples of good advertising is depicted and checklists of needed information for different situations are provided.

Anyone interested in marketing a product or service should buy this book. This is not a rehashed book based on someone else's information. This appears to be the source that I have seen other marketers use as the basis for their marketing products.

Summary: Pratically build a copywriting career from this book!
Review: Well, maybe not quite, but this volume and Bob Bly's "The Copywriter's Handbook" would make an excellent base from which to launch a career--provided you mastered everything contained therein.

A classic, this book goes into what sells and what doesn't; the role of headlines-- what makes one good or bad; and other techniques of selling.

If you are curious about what does and doesn't work in advertising, you need this timeless, yet timely resource. And if you are a copywriter, this is required reading and belongs on your book shelf!

Summary: Fascinating and valuable
Review: You may know a lot about advertising, you may have study advertising, but Caples' approach in advertising is fantastic. It is not only a valuable guide about what to do in specific forms of advertising (and specific aspects), but it contains numerous examples and tests of what is right and wrong. By reading this book, you understand advertising better, regardles if you are an advertising professional or a simple consumer. Excellent and strongly recommended!
