Summary: Marketing to Women
Review: SHORT BUT SWEET...I have co-founded a company to develop and market a new fashion accessory for active women who misplace their glasses frequently. All of the founders have been in the sales, marketing, and/or advertising fields for years. But, this is the first time any of us have been involved in a business that will live or die solely on creating "awareness of", "interest in", and "demand for" with women.

I found Marketing to Women, read it cover to cover (I could not put it down), and have now made it mandatory reading for anyone associated with our company. Barletta offers great insights and provokes "out of the box thinking."

As an extra aside, I learned a lot about female buying habits (Eg. women need to find the perfect answer) that, in the past, frustrated me. This book has and will continue improve my relationship not only with my female customers, but also, and probably most importantly, with my wife, and daughter.

Summary: Leading the Way
Review: The best book written for "ideas" if you want to motivate women to engage in a dialogue or purchase your goods/services (this sounds like a good bottom line reason!) Written in an entertaining, enlightening style. This book is for both men and women.

Review: The principles and advice Martha Barletta outlines in her book provide practical and good direction in a complex marketing world. Not only does her book serve as a fundamental tool for the marketing and business community, it provides an invaluable resource for those of us working in philanthropy. Marketing to Women provokes questions about how charitable institutions will need to appeal to younger women philanthropists, those who are now rising in the ranks of the corporate and philanthropic world and building much of tomorrow's charitable capital.

Summary: A smart business book that's actually fun to read
Review: When Marti Barletta asked me to contribute an essay for her new book on marketing to women, I knew I'd be in good company. I knew her book would be a fantastic resource for marketing professionals and others curious about what makes women different from men. What I didn't know was what a great read it would be. When I got my advance copy I must have annoyed everyone in the office because I was laughing out loud. This is a terrific book-funny, smart, and full of ready-to-put-to-work insights. I love the humor, and the down-to-earth tone. So unusual for a business book, and it adds such richness. It's that spoonful of sugar that makes the important information a pleasure to read.
