Summary: Entertaining Accounting Basics
Review: I read this book at the insistance of my boss. I thought that it would be a childish simplistic explanation of accounting, but was pleasantly surprised. I only wish I had an entertaining accounting book in college. It may have kept me awake in all those endless accounting classes. After reading it, I actually wanted to help my son start an lemonade stand.

Summary: Simplified, but not over simplified, accounting. A gem!
Review: I wanted a refresher in accounting and this book is just what I needed. I was not looking for a book of this type, because I never dreamed that such a cool learning tool existed. The authors really did a great job of creating a book that dives right into accounting concepts, using a simple but not overly simplified approach. I sure wish that my college professors had taught from this book, for about the first week of class. It's an excellent overview or review. If they did, I wouldn't need a refresher--ever.

This book integrates a light hands-on approach throughout, which is truly optional. You'll benefit either way, depending on your learning style. Chances are you'll want to do the pencil work as you go. It's simple enough that you won't have to spend lots of time doing it, but it's still a good opportunity to use what you just learned. I love the fact that the hands on parts are broken into small pieces and placed, appropriately, throughout the chapters instead of waiting until the end. Learn a piece, try your hand at that piece. Repeat. Wonderful!

You are obviously here considering this book; Just buy it! You will not regret it.

Summary: Great Refresher!
Review: I've taken accounting classes when I went to school to get my Associate's degree, it's been a few years since I've studied it. I really needed something to refresh my brain and prepare me for learning in the field of accounting, since I will be returning to college this fall for my bachelors in accounting. This book really did just that, and it was in such an easy format! I finished it in two days, and I feel that I learned more than I think I did in school 4 years ago! It helped me understand inventory and depreciation better than I ever had. I highly recommend this book for anyone planning to open a small business, or if you're planning on returning to school in this field, it's a wonderful refresher course!

Summary: Sorry, this book deserves NO LESS than 5 stars
Review: In college I was a business major and MBA. That was 15 years ago. All through college accounting was my biggest nightmare. I just COULDN'T get it. Finance easy, stats cool, get me in accounting and I was lost.

I needed to re-learn the the subject's basics (information that I never really understood in the first place) because of a new business venture. In one week of reading this book, I walked away with a better understanding and a USEABLE undestanding of accounting, far superior to what I was exposed to in college. It just blows my mind!

Granted, time and experience may have changed my attitude and abilties toward the subject, but for the first time in my life, I walked away from this book actually liking accounting! For me, that in itself is amazing.......This book would have easily raised my GPA!

Summary: Interactive Learning..would like to see more on Service
Review: The Accounting Game(tm)is a very interactive book I felt like I was being walked into accounting with simple, basic, easy to understand techniques and examples. The book's quality is also surprisingly good and the use of color and the example of a kid's lemonade stand was ingenious. The readers will need scrap paper, a pencil (and for those challenged somewhat by mathematics) a calculator. I would like to see more on the service industry accounting proceedures (they touched basically on it in this book, but I would like to have more information.)

Overall, I finished the book in 8 days and beginning to go through it again taking notes as I go along.

Summary: Very good starter for anybody interested in accounting
Review: The author's of the book are very creative and enormously talented in catching the imagination of the reader. I give them three thumbs up. It is a Childs book with the complexity of real live accounting. A must, must, must buy.

Summary: I Never Thought Accounting Could Be So Entertaining!!
Review: This book is great for those of us who know nothing about accounting. Granted it is just an introduction. It is only about 150 pages if you don't include the pre- and post-test. You'd have to be an idiot to believe other wise.
I laughed a lot, which is something I'd never thought I'd do reading an accounting book. In fact, some people herd me laughing while I was reading this and inquired what I was reading. When I told them that it was an accounting book, they thaught that I was a little touched in the head. Then I read a little bit to them and they laughed too. You will also, so go out and buy it!!!!

Summary: Teach your Child the first semester of Accounting
Review: This book is wonderful; anyone can learn from it. You'll find yourself laughing while you learn basic accounting principals. I'm looking to see if this author has written any other books!
