Summary: The CD ROM is AWFUL!
Review: If you are looking for a book with CD ROM to practice test questions on the computer...DON'T BUY THIS BOOK! The answers are incorrectly programmed so even though the rationales make sense, it is graded entirely wrong. Ditto what the other reviewers has to say about this major flaw...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: CD is flawed- Mosby will send you a new one
Review: Mosby did discover that the CD is flawed somehow but they will send you a new one at no charge. Don't let the issue of the CD influence you in terms of the book. It is a great review book. There are lots of test questions- more than most other review books, along with rationale. If you have difficulty in getting the new CD( hopefully now all the books have the revised CD) please get in contact with me (drobin2530@aol.com). Denise Robinson, book editor

Summary: Clearly summarizes data & has review questions/sample test
Review: This book breaks review information down into small sections with sample test questions at the end of each section. Also contains guidelines for well-pt visits. Very easy to study.

Summary: Family Nurse Practitioner Certification Review
Review: This book in no way replaced the 3 volume set by Health Leadership. The 3 Volume Set by Health Leadership is superior because it contains comprehensive content as well as test questions that follow each chapter. The Health Leadership set covers everything you need to know about major theories, diagnoses, treatment modalities, and nursing interventions. The Health Leadership books are organized in their approach, and improve retention and recall and are a far superior study method for reinforcing your knowledge base. These books also are great to keep as a reference guide in the clinical setting.

Summary: EXCELLENT
Review: This book is excellent! I was truly amazed at the number of questions I could answer on the certification exam because I had read about that particular disease/treatment plan/follow-up in this book. I cannot stress how beneficial it was for me in passing the exam. Not only was the information critical to my success, but it has helped me in my practice as a new FNP. The book is organized to help with retention. Diseases are overviewed in a "bullet" method and then immediately followed by review questions. I wish I had been able to share this book with all of my colleagues who took the exam!

Summary: The essential text for a thorough & systematic board review
Review: This text essentially replaces the 3-volume Health Leadership Associates series as the primer source for a manageable and thorough FNP review. Strengths include the range of topics, the conciseness of material, questions after each section, and appendices which include among other topics 2 full 175-question exams. Weaknesses are few, and include factually inaccurate information provided as answers to some of the questions (you'll know when you see them but approach the answers with a healthy degree of skepticism). Overall: A must buy.

Summary: Excellent FNP Review
Review: Well organized per body system and lots of questions with rationales. An excellent study guide for class as well as certification exam prep.
