Summary: Definitely the MOST helpful of books
Review: I have 3 different SAT books, and have flipped through several in the bookstores. This is by far the best.

It has the best lay-out & breaks down everything in the simplest way. I haven't been in high school for 8years and this book totally refreshed (& probably even taught) me on 95% of what appeared on the SAT.

Get this book if you need to know HOW to do the problems. Get another book or look online if you want to know about the extremely debated "techniques" for improving your scores based on not what you know, but on how you alocate your time during the test.

Summary: This one is THE BEST!
Review: If I could only use one book to prepare for the SAT, it'd be this one. Suzee does an excellent job of incorporating fun along with study. I'd recommend this to anyone who's taking the SAT!

P.S. Did anyone notice that the word 'succeeded' was spelled wrong on the back cover? You know what they say...don't judge a book by the cover!

Summary: Too many errors
Review: My son and a friend are in the other room right now, taking the practice test. I'm dreading grading them because you can't trust that the answers in the book are right! Too bad it's too late for me to go out and get 2 different books. Just fyi, here are the mistakes we found (2002 edition)

1. Pg. 288, #11 (Answer should be A)
2. Pg. 125, top problem (She wrote + then multiplied.)
3. Pg. 188, the problem has many typos (Should be (1/(1/x))+1=11

Summary: This book was exceptionally informative and easy to read.
Review: The book is a great source of information to all kids interested in preping for the SAT. The book give you step by step instructions on preparation and ways to memorize and soak in information. There is no book easier to read and as educational as this study guide.

Summary: An extraordinary test-preb guide!
Review: The SAT I for Dummies is the best test-prep book I have seen! This book makes studying for the SAT fun. Like the cover says, it only has what you need to know to succeed. No fillers were put in here so it would look bigger and eye-pleasing like some of the other books. If you want the best advice and studying strategies, plus laughs during preparation, then SAT I for Dummies is for you! It is certainly helping me in achieving my goals (1500+).

Summary: The best of a bad bunch!
Review: This book really exceeds what has come to be a disappointing reputation for SAT study guides.

Because the SAT tends to be very complicated and detailed as an exam and so most study guides tend to almost TRY to reflect this in the complex layout of their books. This study guide is different from all the rest, as it has a simple layout, a brief introduction with some oh-so-useful tips for both English and Math sections and then it divides each English section into the 3 sections within it (1 analogies; 1 definitions; 1 sentence completion etc) and the same with the Math.

After each of the 6 sections it has practice questions. Then at the end it has 3 practice SAT papers.

This is great; it's really well laid out and it's concise. There's no complicated language to get past from the author (the SAT's language is difficult enough!) and it's not as bulky and long and off-putting as other SAT guides, which are often more difficult than the exam itself. If you need a top grade, there's no book better than this one.

Summary: Definitely the MOST helpful of books
Review: This book was instrumental in allowing my son to succeed in his goals of improving his SAT scores. He told me the book was easy to follow, and the humorous tone made it enjoyable to read, unlike some of the others we have purchased. I highly recommend this book for preparing for the SATs.

Summary: Horrible Prctice Tests
Review: This is a good book for preparation, but the practice tests are completely unlike the real ones. I took one one here, got a 1025. Compare that to a 1200 I took, with no extra preparation on a real test!

Summary: Best SAT prep ever written
Review: This is a great book that makes studying for the SAT fun. Weused it in Mom's Home SAT Prep Course. 20 days before the test, my11th grader read one chapter per night. After she read each chapter, she had to sit down with me and explain the chapter. We went over eachsample problem and the tips. Each night, it took her about half anhour to read the book and half an hour to explain it to me. She alsotook 2 sample SAT exams from the book. She scored only about 1150 onthe practice SATs in the book but on the real SAT, she scored 1320 --and we attribute a lot of it to the help of SAT for Dummies! The best$... we ever spent. Ideal for kids who have good vocabulary and mathskills and simply need to learn the sneaky tricks of the SAT. And momor dad, after this kind of prep course, even YOU could take the SAT!
