Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The Book that Introduced EVA to the World
Review: This is the book that most Fortune 500 presidents and CEOs relied upon when implementing EVA (usually with Stern Stewart & Co.'s close supervision). Unfortunately, Stewart's writting style was never the book's strong point. However, despite Stewart's quirky style, it remains THE book to own. "The Quest for Value" is practically the EVA Bible. As an independent consultant specializing in shareholder value, I would recommend that you also consider Young and O'Byrne's "EVA and Value-Based Management" and/or Martin and Petty's "Value Based Management."
