Rating: Summary: Simply Put - A Must Read For Real Estate Investors Review: I read this book and it was awesome. Bill Barnett presents an easy to follow plan to employ many real estate investing techniques. His straight forward approach and prepared scripts enable the reader to move forward easily. The worksheets for determining prices and the web sites he provides should enable the beginning investor to get started. For the accomplished investor, Barnett's book is a handy reminder.
Rating: Summary: A Mind Changer Review: I read this book from cover to cover within 24 hours. Author Barnett explains things in a very easy to understand, non-threatening manner and fills in some of the gaps you may have from reading other books. Other books *say* what you have to do, but don't necessarily tell you how to do it. This is a wonderful book that gives the beginning real estate investor some true nuts and bolts to use in their first few transactions. Let this book be your mentor that won't expect 50% of your deals in exchange for the help. I know I'll be rereading this book many times.I really wanted to give this book 5 stars because I think it deserves it, but could only give it a 4 because the book refers us to the site several times for this or that, but when you get to the site you don't see anything he was referring to. This was the only confusing part of the book. The rest of the book is an absolute goldmine - just waiting for you to take action on your dreams. Do you know the difference between dreaming and reality? The ACTION you take. You can't reap what you don't sow and you can't plow a field by turning it over in your mind. Take the steps to make your dream a reality. One of those baby steps is buying this book. Don't think you can't do it!
Rating: Summary: A "Must Read" for Budding Investors Review: One of the most common questions we get from our users at ForeclosuresMass is "Now that we have the foreclosure data, what do we do with it?" Well there are many different way to pursue foreclosures and when we first read "Are You DUMB Enough to be RICH" by G William Barnett II we thought Bill was reading our minds! In his book, he goes over how to approach people in foreclosure, what letters to send them, what to do once you meet with them, how to structure the deals, your 120 day step-by-step plan, how to find investors, and much, much more. In addition to foreclosures, he also goes into the many other ways to make money in real estate. Add on the forward by Robert G. Allen and you have one fantastic book! .....
Rating: Summary: CA Investor Review: Thank You for making the book simple to understand and for all the endless possibilities from your ideas.
Rating: Summary: Should have been subtitled " a step by step formula" Review: The book is a wealth of advice for the novice investor. It details what you should do and offers examples that you can simply imitate. The only really weakness in the book was the section on raising money. Mr barnett does offer suggestions (including a script to use & the math on why approaching hard money lenders may make a deal more profitable); however he does not go into the details of how you can raise money if you've had no experience doing so (in every other facet of the buying and selling process he does). This book is a fantastic read and a must buy for every other begining investor out there.
Rating: Summary: Price should be higher! Review: The price of this book should be higher with all of the info you'll be getting.Of course with all real estate books you should read more than just one so you'll have a better understanding of whats involved. I wouldn't expect to operate on someone if all I read was one book on surgery. You need to study and watch other people do it, and then when you're ready, you do it. Oh and the reason the other reviewer DANE S. FABER give it a bad review was because of what Mr. Barnett said in the book about real estate brokers, he called them Dinosaurs who have to to keep up with modern times. With all that said this is one Great Book! Read a copy at a library before you buy and believe me, you'll want your own.
Rating: Summary: The Code has been Cracked Review: This book is grounded in the fundamental concepts of real estate that will take your thinking to the next level. This book is entitled `Are you dumb enough...' but it is essentially asking one if they `Are smart enough...' The code has been cracked so simply follow the guidelines set forth in this book. Mr. Barnett presents a strong case to get back to the basics and not try to create unnecessary work, but a more efficient way of working and thinking about real estate. Many times inexperienced, as well as experienced, real estate investors get off track and try to overcomplicate the process of investing. Mr. Barnett presents a clear and concise path for real estate investors at any level to add to their arsenal of knowledge.
Rating: Summary: Are you really dumb enough? Review: This book resonates the KISS technique. After reading the book you can do one of two things, be dumb enough and get rich by doing what the book outlines or go back to the conventional, traditional way of doing things. Do you really like working 65 hours a week while only getting paid for 40. You decide!! Are you dumb enough?
Rating: Summary: Are You Ready to Become a Millionaire? Review: This is excellent book packed with powerful advice. You would be dumb not to read it and even dumber not to use it. I found this book easy reading and very helpful.
Rating: Summary: A must read for the new as well as the experienced investor Review: William Barnett's amusing method of delivery was refreshing in light of all of the intimidating "How To" real estate investing books. It is a primer for the uninitiated and a sobering review for the "seasoned" investor. I recommend this book to any real estate investor, no matter how experienced. Thanks Bill for taking a novel approach to learning the real estate business. This book should remain in the reference library of every successful investor so that the "Pitfalls Recap" can repetitively reviewed.
