Rating: Summary: Not very original Review: This poorly written, unorganized book, does not have an original thought. Dont waste your time. My friends hated the book and couldn't finish it.
Rating: Summary: Rules that You Simple Need to Read it More Than Once Review: Levine's Six Fundamentals of Success is the type of books that you need to read more than once. I've read it a few times because it is an easy read but it helps me focus on the fundamentals that are so important to my business! Rules like if it is important, say it twice and Communicate up and down, inside and out are my favorites. You probably need to read it at least six times to master the six fundamentals. I strongly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Every few years you find a Great Book Review: I am an avid business books reader. Since the Seven Habits of Highly Successful People and a few others by Ram Charan, there has not been any great Business Life books out there that really strike my list. The Six Fundamentals of Success is one of the few that once you start reading it, you simply can't put it down and the rules it outlines are Golden Principles of successful life and business. I own and run a professional firm with about 140 people and I shared the book with some of my senior people. They all appreciate it. I like the chapter - Make Sure You Add Value - it is so important that everyone remembers this rule because often we see people perform great in the beginning and just fizzle out. Great book to pass around the office!!
Rating: Summary: What the CEO wants you to read Review: These six fundamentals from Stuart Levine help simplify complexity and provide a great dose of value to everyone in business, from the newest recruit to the most seasoned manager. As the Vice President of a high-tech company with over 150 employees, I like "Help your team members get ahead" and "Seek out the Energy Generators" - these two rules really make my work life easier and help my team move ahead. This book's subtitles should read "What the CEO wants you to read". A really great book!
Rating: Summary: Really Bad Review: A very disappointing read. With so many other good books on business and management, there is no need to buy this book. It's a brief overview of very obvious stuff. The book is so fundamental that it is overly simplistic.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Tool Review: Six Fundamentals of Success is an invaluable business tool for managers of all levels. I'm an IT manager of a midsize aerospace company and this book has helped to improve my management skills. I highly recommend this book and know this information is worth more than your going to pay for it.
Rating: Summary: Professionals Must Read Review: As a partner of one of the largest CPA firms in the country, I truly enjoyed Levine's Six Fundamentals of Success. Many of my clients are middle market enterprises that have Business Owners getting it right using some of his fundamentals. Often, some will forget this basic fundamentals and trying to get short-term gains for their companies. Others are not good at communicating their visions and goals on a more consistent basis. I will buy some of Levine's books and send to them to remind them of these best practices.
Rating: Summary: Best Practices for CEO/Managers in Bitesize Bits Review: Mr. Levine's book is excellent. Having successfully managed talented people in a high growth environment, I can say that this book would be helpful as a tool to refresh a CEO/Manager's memory on "best practices" in the day-to-day management of his/her organization. This book has identified every necessary management "truth" and articulated them brilliantly. Kudo to Stuart Levine for another great book.
Rating: Summary: Simple Fundamentals not easy Review: This book contains many sound fundamentals that you can use on Monday morning after reading it during the weekends. That is the best part. Most business or how-to books are so complicated to comprehend and impossible to apply on a day-in day-out basis. The examples of this book are very good and it helps you to apply to your daily professional life. Great for new managers on their way up, or for CEOs to give to new leaders for the organization. I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: The Six Fundamentals of Success Review: I had the pleasure of seeing Stuart Levine on "The Today Show" yesterday and ran out to buy a copy of his book. I now truly understand that dashboards are not just for cars! I run an Executive Search Firm and will be distributing copies of this enormously useful and important publication to both my candidates and corporate clients.
