Summary: Excellent book--not just for business
Review: My husband was reading this book for work and I picked it up. I couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting. This is a wonderful book that can help people create the lives they desire. We're applying the ideas in the book to our own family--creating a family vision.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Highly recommended reading
Review: There's something about this book that's different. Other business novels I've read often seem light and superficial--motivational but not practical. There is nothing superficial about this book. The authors' messages are powerful and can easily be applied. Instead of just telling you how important it is to have a vision, they show you how to create one. I was impressed that I could learn so much from a short, enjoyable to read book.

Summary: All Fluff
Review: This book is just more fluffy nonsense that doesn't work in the real world. Managers, including me, would appreciate more practical guidance. I would like to see more management books written by MANAGERS!

Summary: Excellent book!
Review: This book will definitely help you both in your personal and professional life. I finished reading it two weeks ago. I keep thinking about it and finding new ways to apply the learnings. I'm going to read it again. It is filled with practical ideas and useful concepts that can be applied everywhere--at home and at work. I was deeply touched by the story. It is extremely well written.

Blanchard and Stoner have written a book that is deceptively simple, yet filled with significant insights. I think this is possibly the best book Ken Blanchard has co-authored yet!

You don't have to be a business person to benefit from the wisdom in this book!

Summary: Worthless!
Review: This book would only be tolerable if you like romance novels, but in that case you'd be better off buying "The Notebook". - This book has no practical business value at all. I find its popularity to be deeply troubling. There is apparently something in the current business culture that makes people not want to think. They just want to feel good. The story presents "facts", but no sources. It presents inspiration, but no critical thought, and it doesn't prepare the reader for the real challenges that they will face in life or in business. Rather then presenting Vision from the appropriate management perspective, it presents it from a marketing perspective. This is how we want the public to feel about Vision. - Even from the viewpoint of `inspiration' it fails, because it's fictional. ANYONE can succeed in fiction. No?

Summary: Praise for Full Steam Ahead!
Review: Two years ago I decided to change my attitude but didn't really know how. I started reading books about attitude and I changed my life. It helped at work but I still didn't know how to get my team going. So, I bought leadership and teamwork books and kept that learning curve going strong. After a few months I was moved into a leadership role. I was doing very well but still needed something and I couldn't quite figure it out. For months I continued with team building and leadership books and I have read (or heard) over 50 by many different authors in the last two years. The problem was that I had reached a plateau, until now. Full Steam Ahead is the next step for me. Now I have listened to it three times and have starting to share its concepts with my manager and my wife. The first books helped get me into a team leadership role at work but this (I can tell) is going to get me through the next step. Thanks and I hope the book does well.
