Summary: Do yourself the favor of reading this book
Review: My only complaint is that it's too short! Sanders is nothing short of inspiring with this book, which lifts you and pumps you up without drenching you in clichés and hyper-enthusiasm. A lot of times, these books will fall into the trap of being too in-your-face with extreme perkiness, quickly making the book unrealistic and phony. This book transcends other business or managerial books simply because you can apply it to your personal AND professional life - making them one of the same. You can take a lot of good things away from this book, and the good news is you won't have to suffer through outrageous amounts of exclamation points and annoying smileys to do it.

Summary: Swarmy new economy love fest
Review: Tim Sanders is a rock star. He puts on a great show but it isn't anything that you haven't heard before. I would welcome an opportunity to see him speak but this book lacks the depth and breadth to make it to a desert island list.

Mr. Sanders seems like a great guy and a fun speaker but there just isn't enough here for a great book. Knowledge, Networking and Compassion ARE perhaps the killer apps but this book is a little thin on new ideas for my taste. For Mr. Sanders, Knowledge means reading business books, Compassion means parroting back the concepts within to co-workers, business partners and contacts and Networking means playing matchmaker between "nodes" on his interpersonal network.

Although I enjoyed it, some people might find Mr. Sanders use of language to be little too University Avenue and I fear that the book may date rapidly because of the use of terms such as "dot.communist" or "bizpeople".

To be fair, I am a very critical person by nature and a howto for being a 'lovecat" does not resonate deeply within me. If you are not allready dedicated to self-education, "win-win"/compassion and improving your interpersonal skills then you may wish to check out this book.

Summary: Integrity, hard work, and teamwork are the Killer Apps
Review: Initially I anticipated that this book would be a refreshing update of Dale Carnegie's 'How to Win Friends and Influence People.' Instead this book came up empty -- it is merely a rehash of other authors' ideas couched in annoying hippy language that is chock full of buzzwords. This author puts a spotlight on how he does everything right. That tells me he isn't being completely honest. There are, frankly, some business competitors who are bent on total destruction of any perceived foes...regardless of the number of times you hug or love back. I think Sanders knows how to give a nice song and dance which may be amusing at a topical level, but does little to advance true business relationships toward long lasting victories. Wins in the business world (especially in today's tough economy) require rigorous attention to planning, strategizing, hard negotiating, and hundreds of hours on details that are usually hammered out not by love or hate...but by the no-nonsense ingredients of integrity, teamwork, trust, intelligence, and hard work.

Summary: Thanks... to the Original Lovecat
Review: Tim, WTG.
An awesome reminder of what life is all about. I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Tim in Dallas, Texas in 1993-1994 when I still owned Empire Advertising working with Tim on marketing materials for his band "CODE 4". Being in sales myself, this was was my wake up call to return to being 'lovecats'...and that it's OK to do so. After the power ties and attitudes of the 80's and 90's...we've come full circle.
Reading this book made me laugh, and it made me cry, it made me think..I was right there with you man...and realized where I had previously failed in my own relationships, and now see where I can come out on top...by being a lovecat.
I read constantly so thanks for all the other books I now have to run out and buy. All my clients are getting "LOVE IS THE KILLER APP"
...Tim, thanks for the wake up call...a gentle slap upside the head. You are a rock star dude!! I love you. We're with ya all the way.

Summary: You're No Dale Carnegie
Review: I read this book, hoping to learn something new. Unfortunately, it was a rehash of other writers' ideas. There is nothing original in this book. Also, the book feels like a soapbox for Mr. Sanders to brag and put the spotlight on how he does everything right. In general, I have found such 'gurus' to be phony.

Summary: Save your money
Review: This book is lousy. I also think the author is a phony. There is not one original idea that I found in this book. Save your money.

Summary: Not really a killer !
Review: Did I get anything out of the book? Yes. Will it go down on my list of memorable reads? No. Tim Sanders gives a fair pep talk for compassion and networking in business but others have done it much better. The best chapter is on 'Knowledge' where Tim refers to the many business books that have helped him along the way. Worth reading but go to the library first. Not a keeper.

Summary: Love will change your life...
Review: Love Is The Killer App has changed my life and outlook on how I do business.

In his book Tim Sanders evangelizes the qualities of being a "lovecat" which is simply someone who deals with people in a compassionate way. As an ex-investment broker this is a new way of thinking, but one which I have always wished was possible. Now, I know the world is accepting cats like me. I don't have to be the hard...professional that I always thought I "should" be. I will get farther in life by just being me.

The three keys Tim talks about: knowledge, network and compassion lay a foundation for moral-thinking professionals such as myself to be all that we can be by giving others a hand up. Either by sharing what we know, who we know or just a simple smile or pat on the back to lift them up and electrify their day.

In The Experience Economy by Pine & Gilmore discuss new way of doing business that creates an experience for the customer. You can no longer just provide a product or service, but only by developing an unforgettable experience will you build lasting relationships. This is EXACTLY what reading and implementing Tim Sanders' ideas into your everyday life will produce. People will remember you as a "lovecat" because you created an experience for them that grew their knowledge base, expanded their personal and/or professional network and sparked some love into their lives. And this will open unlimited doors for you.

READ IT! TAKE NOTES ON IT! LIVE IT!

Summary: LOVE - the only app worth while!!!!
Review: Just finished "Love is the Killer App" - I have been waiting for this book to land after reading this feature story in Feb "Fast Company" -- and WOW!!!!

What a vortex of fresh air from Tim Sanders. Finally - the "L" word is being said in business. I have been so disheartened by the "dog-eat-dog-winner-takes-all-nice-folks-finish-dead-last" ugliness that has been so pervasive in the world of business for far too long. BRAVO to Tim Sanders!!!!!

CEO's, CFO's, CTO's, Chairman, Chairwomen, executives and managers, supervisors, moms and dads, teachers and soon-to-be-executives of tomorrow - read this BOOK of LOVE!!

We will have cooler technologies, broadband will be everywhere sooner than soon, there will be mini-satelitte dishes on our caps like beany copters but there's just not enough LOVE around. This has to become the new business Mantra. It's the oldest message told in the coolest way. I've never read a book written in such a joyful and kind style - and minus any tech jabber. It's a beautiful read and sure made this reader feel there is more hope for the world of biz and corporate ethics.

Spread the word. Love is the answer! Tim Sanders and Yahoo Board - take a bow!! My heart feels so GOOD reading this book!

Summary: Knowledge, Network, Compassion
Review: If you like Tom Peters you will love Tim Sanders. Tim is a knowledge aggregator - he's taken a whole bunch of ideas from books he has read and turned those ideas into his business philosphy. This is about Tim Sanders, Inc. who happens to work for Yahoo! It's about personal branding, personal marketing, and adding value to the organization. Tim's point is that you can do all of that and still be a nice guy and if you do it right you will be creating a great experience for those who work with you or for you. It's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" for the 21st century networked world. I think it is a great book. Tim has taken some big ideas - knowledge acquisition, networking, killer app's, personal branding, compassion (i.e., love), etc. - and weaved them into a personal philosophy that he offers up as a guide to the business world. Whether you agree with Tim or not, it's pretty cool stuff. And if you want to follow his guide you should first make a list of books you want to read. "Love is the Killer App" should be first on the list.
