Summary: Study guide for technical analysis of the financial markets
Review: Don't get this, it is some kind of answer book to some unknown questions. You want the other book NOT the STUDY GUIDE. I have to send this back and get the other one that is not the study guide. I'll let you know how that is.

Summary: Waste of time
Review: John Murphy is a market technician with well deserved notoriety. The textbook, Technical Analysis of Financial Markets is excellent, the workbook is garbage. Poor questions, unclear statements and vaguely annotated charts muddle the text. The textbook covers 19 plus chapters, the workbook only goes to chapter 12. Disappointing.

Summary: Helpful but the questions may be too simple
Review: This book is helpful for the readers who read John Murphy's classic. But I feel the questions may be too simple. If you read the text then you can answer most of them. They are not very challanging.

Summary: This is a stupid book about a non-sense theory
Review: This is a stupid and non-critical book about a non-sense theory. Since the theory is able to predict everything it is completely meaningless!

For example: When the price approaches a support- or resistance- line, it will either bounce back, or, -believe it or not- break through the line. The theory does not even tell which event is most likely!

The java-scripts on my web page
( www.ragnarius.com/en/hokus/index.shtml ) demonstrates that everything the book says about the stock market also applies to random-walks.

Summary: This Is Not A Text
Review: This is not a paperback of one of Murphy's texts! Don't be confused. It is a work book to test your comprehension as you read the text. Since I did not have companion text, I did no more than scan this book and have no comment on it's content.

Summary: A Must Referece Book For All Active Traders
Review: This is the second release of John's Book. His first book covered more about the futures market. This 1999 release about the Financial Markets is a must for active investors because it covers cycles, stock market indicators, candlestick charting and much more. What I like about this book is that is offers many charts with detailed explanation. You should also consider Candlestick Charting Explained by his partner Greg Morris.

If you are gong to trade stocks or futures, then you must have a well stock reference library.
