Summary: It is a revolutionary book.
Review: A must book for any professional in the business world. Everyone should own a copy and practice Deming's 14 principles. It is a breakthrough in quality management.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Extraordinary book on higher profit margins for business.
Review: American management would do well to read Out of the Crisis and apply Deming's methods to improve their profit margin. Simple tools provide immense returns on investment if management will only apply them.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Statistical Process Control is for management and educators.
Review: Anyone that has to judge others by how well they perform on the job or in the classroom must read this book. Statistical Process Control and the Deming philosophy should be applied in first grade elementary schools and should be taught after fifth grade. Could improve the processes of education if tackled as a system. Could supply a quality product (your child) with evidence of statistical control charts at minimum cost within minimum time. Makes the 70, 80, 90 grading system obsolete. Exposes the inefficiencies of Western Type Management. Boosts your moral if oppressed by inefficient management.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The seminal book on improving management - for everyone.
Review: Anyone, from the President or MD down, who wants to make their company really succeed should read this. It is written in Deming's easy style, with clear explanation and examples. His 14 points and Deadly Diseases avoid slogans and the usual feeling of being just this week's "good idea" - they translate into practical measures that last.

Deming rarely seems to claim the ideas in the book for himself, preferring to give credit to those around him. It has been left to others to give him the credit he deserves as one of the 20th century's great maangement thinkers.

Summary: A fantastic read.
Review: Eminent statistician and quality control expert Dr. Deming shows all of us just how badly we've missed the boat for decades while other countries catch up to us in terms of, well, just about anything you can think of. There are huge implications here for any organization stuck in a rut when it comes to productivity and quality.

Deming, in case you didn't know, is the guy who helped put Japan back on track after World War II. Actually, he is chiefly responsible for the Japan we have come to know over the last 20 to 30 years. Corporate America and Uncle Sam, are you listening?

Summary: Deming, the Root Cause of Quality Improvement
Review: Having "seen the light" as spoken by Deming, I highly recommend this book and Deming's "The New Economics" to anybody interested in not only quality and business, but anybody working. If you aren't in a position having the power to change your workplace, be prepared to bite your lip when conventional management is used.
When you look at Six Sigma you can see much of Dr. Demings work and thoughts being used, thus one persons short review that Dr. Deming is the real father of Six Sigma. Six Sigma brings more of the cost savings aspect to process improvement which appeals to conventional business.
While people can look at Japan and say they are down now and Dr. Deming is wrong, there are plenty of Japanese companies that follow Dr. Deming's teachings still that are clobbering the competition. Toyota, the 2nd largest auto manufacturer in the world now (yes, ahead of Ford by most accounts) uses his teachings.
Don't just read the words, understand what is being said and learn from Dr. Deming.

Summary: GE is using Demming's ideas to propel it into 2000
Review: I cannot beleive this book takes so long to order. The American corporate leader in management is using Demming's ideas to propel its competitiveness into the next century. I have just completed a 6 week training program at GE Capital, much of which is pure Demming. We are using the tools. If corporate America does not wake up GE is gonna double it's size again in the next decade. Ha Ha Ha.

Summary: Where Quality Begins
Review: I first became aware of Dr. Deming through the Deming Management method. He affected so much change in Japan and was not known here in the USA. The chief reason for his lack of success here was probably that eliminating fear, one of his 14 points, has never really been a management method of American Management. Today people fear losing jobs, his method of quality was to lead to more jobs and more quality utilizing American pride in work. I do think his method had an impact, look at companies like Xerox, and others who continually improved, yet, our economy is so short sighted, we never seem to get past the view of everything this Quarter...we need to have a broader perspective. I find my coworkers in America to be very hard working people who have pride in what they do and accomplish. If only we would remember the red beads, we would get quality if we provide quality material. Demings last seminar was held in Pasadena, I wanted to go to that, yet I hesitated and well, had to learn from a friend second hand. This is a must buy for anyone who will manage people, engineers and corporations.
