Summary: Must have book to add to your bookshelf!!!
Review: I am a big fan of Brian Tracy, but this book is incredible. There is valuable information packed into every chapter, it is the type of book that you will read and then continue to re-read over and over again to get some great insight.

He tells you how to do tasks that you would like to put off, but he puts them in a way of thinking that it makes sense to get over your procrastination and start making lists and steps to get those goals accomplished.

Must read for anyone that wants to work on their increased productivity in life.

Summary: A waste of money; a waste of time
Review: I don't write a lot of reviews, and I depend on Amazon reviews to help me have honest, non-biased opinion to help me spend my money. In that spirit, let me say that "Eat That Frog" is a complete waste of money. There are a number of good books on procrastination out there, but this book is not one of them.

What ideas this book may contain can all be gleaned from the reviews already written here on Amazon. There's actually more substance in some of them than in the entire book itself. I found myself shaking my head and angrily turning every page, frustrated that Tracy could get away with publishing a book so completely devoid of content. Fortunately this book is short; it deserves to be a pamphlet. A very short pamphlet.

That's not completely fair. The book has content, but it's either embarrassingly common sense, or startlingly unoriginal. Add in the fact that Tracy writes like, well, a second-tier motivational speaker and there you've got it. For example, here's a sentence from chapter 9, "Refuse to allow a weakness or lack of ability in any area to hold you back." Does that motivate you? Does it help you in any way? Me neither. Fill 113 pages with large type and a lot of white space with this empty, thoughtless, and above all condescending blather and you, too, can write a motivational book.

Oh, and don't forget to fill ten pages with blatant self-promotion ("Double your income, Double your time off!") just to beef up the page count and make the book a little thicker.

Perhaps you really are a desperate procrastinator (like myself) who's looking for someone to help him out of his overwhelmingly negative habits. You want to find a book to help? I'll recommend two: Rita Emmett's "The Procrastinator's Handbook", which, while not original is at least honest and readable, which is more than you can say about "Frog."

Perhaps on the top of the list is David Allen's "Getting Things Done" which is the absolutely best, most practical, applicable, and sustainable system for overcoming procrastination I've ever read. And it's not even a book specifically about procrastination. Yet it works. Magic. Based on the advice in "Getting Things Done" I've finished my bachelor's degree -- 14 years after I first enrolled in college.

The short of it: don't waste a nickel on "Eat That Frog", and spend you money on one of many much, much, much better books. You deserve it.

Summary: I love this book!
Review: I have been a chronic procrastinator my entire life. After being hindered by this problem in college, I have made it a primary focus to overcome it as I enter the world of self-employment.

I saw three excellent things about this book:

1) A great system to help you overcome procrastination

When my girlfriend saw me reading this book, she said, "It's pointless to read a book about how not to procrastinate -- either you do it or you don't! What, is he going to give you strategies?"

Actually, that's exactly what Tracy does. I've done pretty much all of the things he suggested at one time or another -- make a list, write out your goals, plan out your day, etc. -- but he explains how to combine all these things together.

2) Clear, concise writing

I am so fed up with authors who blather on and on. This book gets it done in 113 pages of large type -- short and sweet. I especially like the way Tracy gets big ideas into short sentences -- I recall them in my head when I'm tempted to slip back to my old ways.

3) Positive attitude

Let me tell you, a life of procrastination can make a person feel pretty down -- about missed opportunities, failed obligations, etc. But Eat That Frog is positive without ever being condescending. Reading it actually got me excited about changing the way I do things.

Now, as any procrastinator knows, you can't just change in a day. I'm still not a model frog-eater myself. But I've seen definite improvement in my work habits since reading this book. My girlfriend has even relented and picked it up!

Summary: Stop "putting it off" and "eat the frog"
Review: I have had the pleasure of seeing Brian Tracy in action at Peter Lowe Success Seminars. What you see is what you get, no-nonsense approaches to "success". At times the book seems a little too general belaboring the point of doing the main thing, right now, that will bring you the most success. Average joe employees will have to take the principles and apply them to the fundamental areas of life.

Mid-managers and others facing critical deadlines might benefit more. The book lends itself to careers where there are very clear-cut goals (i.e. sales - which covers Tracy's background).

Overall - I'd recommend it. Even those in careers other than in fields where goals are easily broken down can glean benefit from Tracy's recommendations to stop procrastinating. The books is a very easy read, borders on repetition, and could be read at one sitting.

Summary: A highly effective purchase
Review: I have long searched for anything that would help me get a grip on things I have a real tendency to put off doing. This easy to read book (with a funny title) has changed my life! No kidding! I am not late for work any more, my bedroom is neat and conducive to relaxation and romance (finally).
Yes, I may have heard these things before, but, not put in such a "graphic" way. This book really got me moving in the direction that I want to go! Many thanks to Brian Tracy!

Summary: A breakthrough book
Review: I must have read fifty time-management books, but this is the one that did it for me -- my productivity has increased tenfold after reading this book. Tracy has simple precepts that nevertheless made a light bulb go off in my head, like "There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing." And he helps you define the most important thing -- the one that will make the most difference longterm. After years of struggling to prioritize and work on ten projects at once, the way the author explains things finally made me "get it." I was also impressed at how he did his research: he found the most productive and successful people he could, and asked them how they did it. This book REALLY helped me! Let me add that I have no connection to the author or publisher of this book, and this is my first review for Amazon -- I'm just an unbiased reviewer who loved this book.

Summary: Interesting overview of procrastination
Review: I read this book in an airplane between Montreal and Toronto two weeks ago. It took me about 30 minutes to read it. What you will find here is 21 tips on how to reduce procrastination. For sure if you apply some of those ''secrets'' it will greatly help you to overcome procrastination. I really appreciated reading this book. It was very easy to undestand and right to the point. There is a little bit to much repetition, but I think that's ok. If you haven't read any book on procrastination, Eat that Frog is a nice starting point. The price is a little to high so you may want to go for the audio version.

Summary: "Eat That Frog" by Brian Tracy
Review: I really enjoyed the book, and found it to be fantastic. It was concise, clear and well-written with precise exercises to do. Though it has some ideas that I have seen oftentimes before, yet this made me see my assignments and projects differently with a new perspective.
This was one book I read in almost one sitting. That was my first step in not procrastinating. I have recommended the book to a few of my friends. This was a hard cover version of the book.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Nothing new
Review: I was very disappointed with this book. Usually anything written by Tracey is motivating. Everything in this book was coined by someone else. Absolutely nothing new and a total waste of my money.
