Summary: All frog diet
Review: "Eat That Frog!" is a quick read and a thought provoking book. The author, Brian Tracey, could probably have combined a few of the topics that are similar, but even without further distillation it is an interesting read.

The basic message of the book is really decide what matters, pick the most important activities, figure out the steps to get results and start doing it now.

Having summed it up in one sentence you main wonder if you need this book. I would say if you want to accomplish the most with what limited resources you have then this is worth the money. Each chapter includes short exercises that make you focus on what you really want and help you build an action plan to get it done.

Summary: Good book for the procrastinator
Review: "Eat That Frog" by Brian Tracy is an excellent book about creating habits to stop procrastination. This easy to read book gives 21 pieces of advice to stop putting off the things that really need to be done and just do them.

I found a lot of these examples repeated from his book, "Million Dollar Habits" but repeatition is sometimes needed to learn some techniques. Additionally the layout in this book is much better so I highly recommend this book also.

The mostly focuses on the importance of setting goals, planning and attacking the big tasks from a piece by piece mindset. While I found this advice relevent and helpful, I would have liked some examples, especially in the planning part of the book. However there are plenty of other books out there on that topic and examples were probably left out to keep the size of the book small and easy to reread.

In all, definitely a great book and worth reading. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Summary: Stop Procrastinating!
Review: 'Eat That Frog', by Brian Tracy, is an excellent book on ceasing procrastination and on time management. While I'm not personally a procrastinator, and this problem seems to have a straightforward solution (it does -- 'stop worrying about it and just do it'), many otherwise intelligent people are plagued with this problem to some degree. In this short (113 pages in hardback), easy-to-read book, Mr. Tracy urges his readers to tackle the least-desirable, hardest task first, rather than putting it off in favor of completing easy, less important tasks. (That what the title refers to -- if one has to eat an ugly frog, he should do it immediately, so that he doesn't spend all day worrying about it.) He then goes through the typical time management strategies of Pareto and quad-based prioritization, division of large tasks into smaller component tasks, etc.

Fortunately, since it's short and easy-to-read (should take maybe an hour or so), even the worst procrastinator will probably get around to reading it.

Summary: Excellent
Review: Eat that Frog is an excellent motivational book. The complaints I see by most here are along the lines that there's nothing new in this book. To me, there's nothing new in MOST self help books. After all, we each know that the way to stop procrastinating is to just do what we dread, the way to lose weight is to burn off more calories than we consume, the way to keep house is to clean and organize on a regular basis, and so on. What we seek is some motivation and some reasoning for doing what we dislike doing.

Brian Tracy gives this motivation and reasoning. This is a short, fast read. As the author says, it doesn't go into all the psychology of procrastination; rather, it gets right to the action. Brian Tracy covers such things as determining priorities, delegating and eliminating some tasks, knowing what's okay to procrastinate about, and whether to tackle your "frog" (your big task that will lend the greatest results) first or a lesser priority task.

The result is a clear, concise book that is helpful and shows that by regularly eating your frogs first, you develop a habit that makes it easier to accomplish more than the average person and do it with increasingly less effort. An excellent, worthwhile book that you will likely refer to time and time again.

Summary: Motivational Masterpiece
Review: Eat That Frog is one of the most deceptive books I ever read. It's so easy and fun to read that you almost miss the profound messages it delivers. It holds an incredible amount of powerful wealth building tools in tiny bite sized chunks. Congratulations on a productivity and motivational masterpiece.

Summary: Still Brian¿s best
Review: Everything Brian has to say on taking action is included inside this small book. Mine is heavily underlined, and I regularly take a speed course in effectives by skimming through it for half an hour.

Think of it: although we can view an entire week, month or year in our planners, we only actually exist in one point in time. We can only do one thing next. "What should I do NOW?" is the crucial question we must face. This book answers that question.

You can only do one thing at a time. You want it to be the right thing. How do you decide what the right thing is? Read this book, and you will find out. (Hint: it's probably the thing you are resisting the most).

In virtually everybody's life there is one thing they can do to elevate themselves to a better future. Each of us already knows what that thing is. So why don't we do it? Read this book, and you WILL do it.

Summary: Order this book now!
Review: Fast read and excellent information. From the very beginning the book gives information that is meant to be used right away. When Mr. Tracy says put down the book and do something. Put down the book and do it. Mr. Tracy you have a new fan. Thank you.

Summary: You need this book!!!
Review: First of all, I gave this book 5 stars for only one reason. That reason is because 6 stars were not available. Second, this book does not contain any new information. Then, Why, you might ask, do I rate it so hightly. Well, the answer is this; though it contains no new information, especially if you are already a Brian Tracy fan, it puts all of his ideas into a concise, easy to use, believable format. Don't read this book, absorb it and live it and you will live your dreams. If you can get a copy of the cassette or CD, 21 success habits of self made millionaires, use that, along with this book and you will be unstoppable.

Summary: I now actually look forward to my plate of frog every mornin
Review: Great title, great information, great book.

I was one of the worst procrastinators on the planet until I got this book. A set of stairs outside my home that needed fixing actually got to the point that they were dangerous before I went out, ripped them off and replaced them. Why? I feared the frog that lived there. I was convinced that the project would take a full day (at least) and would probably need a professional carpenter before I was through. I read this book and decided that the stairs were my first frog. That sucker slid down my throat in an hour and a half and the stairs are strong and attractive.

In case you haven't gotten the analogy yet (or read about the book in the editorial review), the frog of the title represents the biggest, worst, most dreaded task on your plate for any given day. If you put it off and put it off it's possible to worry about the the job longer than it will take to finish it. Even worse, the frog may grow because you've let it go for so long and then swallowing the damnable amphibian becomes nigh impossible.

There are loads of other great information on how to determine what your particular frog may be, the best way to approach it and other time management techniques included as well, but the title really says it all. After the frog goes down the hatch the rest of the day is yours. Open wide and say ribbit!
