Summary: A Must Buy for Any Serious Investor
Review: The interviews conducted by Jack Schwager more than a decade ago and publish in this remarkable book are still as relevant today as ever. Jack Schwager takes us inside the mind of some of the top market players of our era. The book is extremely enjoyable to read and clearly shows that although it is very hard to make money trough investing in the markets, with hard work and determination it is possible.

Some of the players mentioned in this book are still around today, while others have move on to other things. It is true that some of these speculators were institutional or "inside" investors, but you will still learn a lot from their experiences. The great thing about these extraordinary people is that each had their own unique approach that worked for them, and none of them were followers.

You will learn the importance of creating your own individual trading system in order to be able to actually make money in the markets, and of course each interview is filled with tons of ideas and real life stories that will help you develop your own individual identity. Some of the stories are amazing and you WILL learn a lot from them.

There are heaps of books out there that promise to make you rich overnight by following their simple systems, but the greater part of them just don't work. On the contrary, this book will truly help you get a grip on what really takes to make it in this hard business. It is very simple and fun to read, and don't be fooled by the year it was published because like I said before it is still extremely relevant today. If you are researching books on trading, then please buy this book, and read it carefully. You will not regret it.

Review: Perhaps the standard by which all other trading books are compared.

Usually get somehting fresh with each reread;
particularly helpful & fun read when you compare the common ground, convergences & divergences of all the different market plans & personalities.

A must read along with the few books , written by top traders interviewed , like William O Neil books

Summary: Pearls of wisdom for aspiring market wizards
Review: "Market Wizards" takes you on a tour of the pantheon of world-renowned traders. In tracing the evolution of each, the book highlights how they rose from humble beginnings, overcame abject failure somewhere along the way, and were ultimately catapulted to stardom. Most play their cards close to vest when asked about their trading strategies (which is understandable: as Victor Niederhoffer once remarked, a winning trading strategy can't be had for the price of a book), however the real aim of Market Wizards is not to provide a Holy Grail but to give the reader a feel for the successful trader's mindset - an underrated but crucial ingredient to success. As such, this book is a source of inspiration and insight for the aspiring market wizard.

Summary: Patterning Positive Trading Behavior
Review: "Market Wizards" is a book that I think traders ought to read and reread. The interviews offer a window into the way great traders think and act. To me, reading top trader interviews from "Market Wizards" over and over (and I do) is like a basketball player visualizing making free throws before the game starts. It reminds me of the proper mindset and discipline needed to trade successfully.

Plus, the stories are fantastic. Almost every trader interviewed has a "here's the trade that almost put me out of business" story. They're terrific for me to read because they teach me two things: first, that the market is utterly unforgiving and ever-changing, and even great traders can get their lights put out if they aren't disciplined; and, second, that life (and trading) is about persistence and learning from misteaks (get it?).

Buy it and enjoy it - be sure not to miss the story Paul Tudor Jones tells about getting caught on the wrong side of a cotton trade, and realizing it the very instant he entered into the trade. Terrific.

Summary: A good role model is worth it's weight in gold!
Review: Plenty of role models here. Top traders interviewed. Why are they successful? What makes a good trader good? Why do traders fail? Are successful traders trend followers or fundamentalists? Excellent coverage of traders in all markets. If you want to learn what works in trading, then read this book. If you want to find out if you have what it takes to be a successful trader, then read this book. You will also want to read, "Trend Following: How Great Traders Make Millions In Up Or Down Markets".
