Rating: Summary: Welcome to the new economy!!! Review: A great deal of this book is spent talking about real estate and MLM (multi-level marketing) what makes the book truly worth the price though is the section on INFOPRENEURING -- it could be a book itself. Allen gets it -- he is truly aware of what it takes to monetize intellectual property-- the stuff that comes from your mind and others. Don't miss that section of the book. If you're a writer, reader or artist this is what you'll need to succeed in the 21st CENTURY!!
Rating: Summary: If you wish to feed your mind this is steak ! Review: As the future unfolds you will find that Robert G. Allen, Robert Kiyosaki, and a hand full of other writers had a clear vision of what to expect. They were able to gather information from studying what has happened in the past and making it digestible for you. Yes, you can still purchase properties with little or no money down. Yes, you can still sell your own books and tapes. Yes, you can build a business, doing (X)in spite of the competition for other businesses doing (X). Use the information provided by Harvey Mackay to completely obliterate your competition in a (market which is saturated) ! Try simply making the use of Dale Carnegie's book to make your own path smoother. Tomorrow you could have a better life if you simply used principles explained by Tom Hopkins. The income you have is related to how much information you are willing to feed your brain. With MSI you get a summation from a guy who has been making more money than the President of General Motors. Get the book, get in this guys head, and get out the door.
Rating: Summary: Very motivational, a bit outdated Review: Real estate for no money down? Not gonna happen in the next five years unless you buy in a very small town, or you pay too much, or it's a "problem" property. Money with MLM? Maybe. But there are way more failure stories than successes. Information publishing? Probably the best way to go. The Internet makes it easy to research printing companies, use sites like eLance to find proofreaders and cover designers and to market your product through pay-per-click advertising. Unfortunately, none of this was covered in the book. It's good for motivation and a few ideas. Tends to be full of hype, but it's a good starting point if you're looking for ideas to do further research on.

Robert Allen offers multiple ways to create residual income. You can earn money while you sleep. Anyone who depends on their b oss and a job for security has been living in a cave for the last 15 years!
Rating: Summary: Mostly Regurgitated Hype and Ignorance Review: Robert Allen talks of integrity and and only promoting fair and ethical products and programs. After reading this book and deciding that it was mostly regurgitated information that in many cases is out of date, I bought the 8 CD program, "New Edition". It turns out that the new edition includes references to Mother Theresa and Wayne Gretsky (in the present tense). I'm pretty sure that Mother Theresa is dead and Wayne Gretsky stopped playing hockey years ago. Allen introduces some guy called Sol Stein (?) on the CD as a web guru and genius at making money on line. Good old Sol informs us that after he gets a ton of traffic to his site he'll start charging advertisers to advertise on it. Allen gushes "wow Sol another stream of income". Allen needs to check the history of revenues from advertising online since he did his initial research, which I'm guessing was about five years ago. The ultimate insult is that Allen has now started promoting multi-level marketing schemes, the absolute lowest and sleaziest form of online sales. What's next for Allen, chain emails? Robert Allen appears to run out of ideas but still finds it in himself to keep pedalling the same lines and worn out phrases to make more money from the ignorant and gullible. Fortunately for Allen there are plenty of us out there willing to pony up the money. Don't waste your money on this lame effort. Get it from the local library and return it after you've read the one or two bits of information worth anything. The rest is rubbish.
Rating: Summary: "Nothing Down" may leave you with "Nothing Left" Review: I completely endorse the review put by S.Sterling on Feb 10, 2003. I ordered this book free (paid only S&H) as a part of a promotion from Robert G Allen's(RGA) office. After 15 days I got a call from a Rep from RGA's office. He explained that RGA and his associates are teaching 4 streams of making money, viz Real Estate, Internet, Stocks and Marketing/Licensing. When I showed interest, I was asked to get my Credit Card limit increased to $2000, which will be used to finance my business. This was because I disclosed a low annual salary. Finally, the Rep scheduled a meeting with an Executive Director(ED). The ED first said the charge for the Protege Program would be $1495/- for all 4 streams of income. When I drilled him down in detail, he said that the $1495/- was only for one stream and only if I pay $3995/- will he open all the 4 strams of coaching for me. Many questions I had about the Protege Prgram, like is the conf.call phone a 800 number, emailing the coach, etc were not answered by the ED. RGA had got Jay Abraham on one of his free conference calls. When I called Jay's office for help starting a business, I went through the same process. Here the REP and Executive Director say that they work for Robert Allen from Jay's office. The REP asked me to increase the Credit limit to $10,000 and in the Executive Director's meeting, he said that for one stream i.e. Internet , it will be $4000 and a coach will call every week for 52 weeks. I will be given a web-authoring software, and I will sell products from their huge warehouse.... Why should I pay $4000 and spend my time, to setup up their website and sell their products ? What am I learning here? What is the price for? Is this thing for Real or a scam ?
Rating: Summary: Caveat Emptor Review: The book is just a gloss-over summary of ways to make money through various sources. Nothing original. Some ideas are worth pursuing, others I wouldn't touch. You're better off getting books that are in-depth. What is disturbing is that the book contained a flyer promoting Allen's Protege' Training. His Rep said to first get a credit card that would be used to capitalise my business I would start under their tutelage. She seemed disappointed I could only get $4,000 credit limit, but hyped up an interview with their 'Executive Director' who would decide whether or not I'd be accepted into their protege club. After a basic interview, their Executive Director stated I should charge the $3,995 tuition to my credit card. I confronted him about the Rep's statement that the credit card was specifically to be used to finance the start-up of my business. He said the Rep was wrong and that I needed to seek capital partners to finance my business. Since the Rep had been working for Allen for two years and the Executive Director for four years, one of them wasn't being truthful. It was a classic bait & switch to get my money. I had two friends go through the same interview. One claimed to have a credit limit of $4,500 and one a limit of $5,000. The friend with the limit of $4,500 was quoted a tuition of $4,495 and the friend with the credit limit of $5,000 was quoted a tuition of $4,995. Also, I asked the director why I needed the protege' course if the book was so wonderfully instructional. He said the book is not really a step-by-step 'How-To' (despite its deceptive sub-title) and that, just as I couldn't learn brain surgery by reading a manual, I couldn't really be generating money by Allen's book without his protege' program. I say: BUYER BEWARE!
Rating: Summary: Watch out! Review: The book is primarily a gloss-over of topics needing more than a mere chapter. The title is deceptive. This is not really a How-To book, but a summary of ideas and strategies. It came with an insert advertising Allen's 'Protege' program. Upon calling, a Rep told me they were interviewing select people to be students in Allen's Protege Training. I was told the Protege Training teaches students how to start and operate businesses. Their Rep instructed me to get a credit card for at least $5000 as this would be used to finance my first business. I got a card for $4000. The Rep seemed a tad disappointed with the amount, but then told me I had been 'pre-approved' to have an interview with one of Allen's Executive Directors who would determine whether or not I'd be invited to be an Allen Protege'. The interview was basic and I was approved. The Executive Director told me the cost of the Protege' Program was $3,995 and could be put on my credit card. I told him their Rep said my credit card was specifically to be used as start-up capital, not tuition. He said the Rep was wrong. I then asked where I was supposed to get the financing for my business. He said I have to seek money from third party sources. I said, 'You mean capital partners?' He said 'Yes.' I told him his Rep claimed to have worked at Allen's office for two years and asked how she could state one thing and he state another? He began verbally side-stepping the issue. I had two friends inquire about the Protege' Program. One friend said she had a credit limit of $3500, the other friend had a credit limit of $5000. Both were told by a Rep that the credit card money was for financing their business start-up. Yet the Executive Directors told them to use their credit cards for tuition. The friend with the $3500 limit was quoted a tuition amount of $3495 and the friend with the $5000 limit was quoted a tuition amount of $4995. A scam? You figure it out. Caveat Emptor!
Rating: Summary: Apply these techniques, they WORK! Don't rely on your normal 40 hour job..you need more to survive and be successful in this world. Better yet when you follow Roberts techniques, you won't have to work day in day out 40 hour a week job!..you can work when you want! Its all about RESIDUAL INCOME.
