Summary: It ain't the holy grail but........
Review: Ok, here's my 2-cents. I've recently indoctrinated an outlook on seminars, how-to and personal development books. The new outlook is...if it spurs a thought, even a single thought, or induces a call to action then it has value. Well this book has nothing new in it but, it has introduced me to one new thing and directed a call to action for my wife and I. The ideas discussed in this books are great, but you gotta get pass the evangelizing. I am very happy to have read this book and am actually implementing some of the ideas that are discussed in it. But don't buy this book if you expect all of the answers. To get a better understanding of the concepts that Mr. Allen discusses in this book, we have purchased at least 3 other books and a reread 2 others that we own. The visuals that he uses in the first part of the book (mountains streams of income) are interesting but I quickly tired and became irritated with the constant evangelizing throughout the book.Again buy it for the nuggets, not the context. Additionally, as I sit here in mid-2001 documenting this review if you are one of the many people who, like myself, are in the telecom industry or, like myself, received a seperation package from a telecom or are otherwise unemployed and looking for something different, this book is a great call to action for you in your new life.

Summary: It's helping me write a book already
Review: I love this book!! I have the confidence to write a book now after reading this. It's already 100 pages long. The key is that YOU NEED TO DO WHAT HE MENTIONS IN THE BOOK!! It's like buying a piece of exercise equiptment and expecting it to take fat off your body without doing any exercising. Even Robert Allen, Walt Disney and GEORGE LUCAS had a ton of rejection. As well, they had to start from somewhere to get money to start their dreams. If they can do it, why can't you? Even if you fail, you'll be steps ahead of the people who don't take action but have the gull to criticize you. As Yoda told Luke Skywalker "Do or do not. There is no try." WIth that said, buy this book and go for it. What have you got to lose?

Summary: Great ideas but skip paying for the book !!!!!
Review: Hello, Luckily I was able to borrow a copy from a friend without buying this book. You don't need a friend, just go to the library or the local book store, take a note pad, make notes and research the items/ideas you are interested in. This is easily done since some chapters are only 10 to 15 pages long. If you skip the stories you can blow through the whole book in about 2 hours. Allen's book contains mostly good information. The problem is, his book is filled with successful stories and letters from students of his and he does not bother to go into the details of how each system should be approached and executed. Sure the stories are nice but many are not realistic since they were achieved by pure luck or the planets aligning with the moon at just the right time. Read a few and you will see what I mean. One student made a really great real estate deal because by pure luck she overheard a conversation in church. His ideas are good though. Many are easy to exercise. The book is more like one big ad for his website and affiliate products than a book written to provide real solid step by step guidance. Take an hour, blow through the book, decide what you want to know more about, then buy books that provide deeper, more detailed info about those ideas. His book will not provide you with a well thought plan. Just inspiration. Which is not a bad thing, but if you are watching every penny....your money is best used elsewhere for follow up.

Review: Good book for beginers or seasoned entrepreneurs that want some great ideas on building your own financial success. Pick any one or more of Mr. Allens wealth building methods, do your homework, and go for it. Knowlege + Dedication = Success! HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?

Summary: Mostly Sound Advice with Overstated Claims
Review: In this book, Mr. Allen gives you an overview of the key principles behind creating more sources of income. He claims to focus on opportunities on a "part-time basis," from "your own home," "using little or none of your own money," "with few or no employees," "using simple, proven systems that really work." In many cases, he describes the success that the most successful one percent will enjoy as though that is what you should expect. In other cases, he encourages you to pursue paths that could cause you to lose lots of money. Be careful! The section on the benefits of regular investing and compound interest is one of the very best I have seen. It shows how as little as a dollar a day invested can be turned into a million dollars over a lifetime. That is followed by 50 ways to save $50 a month so you'll be able to make these investments. He then has a good section on the money skills you need: "value" money; "control" money; "save" money; "invest" money; "make" money; "shield" money; and "share" money for worthwhile purposes (your legacy). I agree that each of these areas needs work. I do think that the "control" and "shield" sections are overdone for the average person. They are more an indication of personality that is compulsive than of necessary steps. I have known hundreds of people who have achieved financial security through their own efforts, and none of them to my knowledge employed more than a small amount of what is described in those two sections. I also liked his "moneytree" concept for what kind of a stream of income you should try to build. I do think he makes it sound much easier than it is. I have personal experience with most of these areas, and I thought that they each took a lot of work, strain, and sweat. I also had to put significant financial resources into them before I was done. The stock investment section is pretty good until he starts talking about buying calls. Don't do it. His advice on buying indexed, no-load mutual funds is good, but he veers off into encouraging sector funds. Don't do it unless you are very knowledgeable. I thought the real estate section was good, but he makes it sound easier than it is to handle the human interactions necessary to get the real estate with no money down and to do the renting and fix up. Many people would find it excrutiating to do those things. Someone with a lot of emotional intelligence would find it fun. Don't forget that needed repairs can put quite a dent in your wallet, as can having deadbeat tenants (or no tenants). The tax lien section is pretty good, and more people should look into that. I thought the network marketing section was woeful. Yes, celebrities have an easy time with network marketing. Are you a celebrity? I think that licensing will be too tough for most people, although it was a good idea to have it here. This is more appealing for people who are lawyers. I wish it were as easy to make money from writing a book as he suggests. The tax material was decent, if a little light. Overall, Mr. Allen seems to have a need to show off. He likes to tell about his personal successes. I agree that he is a talented man. And I agree that I am not as talented as he is in these areas. So why should I try to follow his advice? Most things require skill or knowledge to do well. If he looked for things that 90 percent of the people succeed in earning a good income from with limited risk, this would have been a great book. But he keeps wanting to pull rabbits out of a hat, by describing places where a few will make a killing while most will get killed. A good example is the section on building an Internet business. I do recommend that you read the book. But check out the ideas for their difficulty to implement, and their risk, before choosing ones to do. Generally, simpler, safer, and easier are better. If you did everything he suggests, you would have a very complicated life just taking care of your finances. Before reading this or any other investment book, I suggest that you think through how your would like to spend your time on achieving and retaining financial security. Then, as you read this and other books, check out the ideas to see how well they coincide with your idea of what you like to do. Reject those that push you in directions that are uncomfortable for you. You probably won't follow through, or will do it badly, or will feel lousy all the time. Money just isn't worth making yourself unhappy for. Keep money in perspective in terms of your goals for a wonderful life!

Summary: 4 1/2 stars; a good beginning; overall spread
Review: This is a great book for people who know that they want to get out of the rat race, or make some additonal funds, but aren't sure in which area. RA covers areas like network marketing, real estate, stock options, internet opportunities and much more. He also covers some basic and very helpful points for watching your income from draining away, as well as tax laws which can save you more money. It is not the book you want when you know that you want to get into something like real estate or the stock market though. RA doesn't have time for that as he covers several different areas to perk our interest. Overall, this is a good book to read if you're not sure of which area you're interested in and its up to date. I've read over two dozen basic books on finance and other than Robert Kiyosaki's RICH DAD series, this is a good starter book.

Summary: Multiple Uncertainty but Streams of inspiration!
Review: Mr. Allen really succeeded in making me feel good about the insights he instilled about respect for money and of course, compound interest. He is so bright about life and his wits are profoundly relatable. The problem I have with the now famous "nothing down" fanfare is in the book it's treated so much like an infomercial that the actualization and specific intracacies of such a deal seemed at best, cursory. There should have been more talk of all the bad things that could go awry instead of all the "hunky dory" good stuff. The biggest turn off for me is the dreaded, "network marketing" which Allen says is his best and most profound income stream. He says it's not the pyramid scheme of the 60's or 70's, but it sure seem like it to me. The only difference is that you don't have to do the delivering yourself. Overall, Allen is brilliant, extremely likeable and a master of making you feel good. The little blurbs on margin with famous adages or quotations are superb. In the end, I believe it comes down to the individual...it's not for everyone, only those who believe...

Summary: Best gift ever!
Review: My husband bought me this book for Christmas and it is the best gift ever! It gives many different ways to earn reliable streams of income: concepts ranging from stock market investing to real estate to Internet opportunities. Not all techniques will be right for everyone, depending on your age, skill set, location, risk tolerance and personal interests. Yet the opportunities he presents are sound and full of potential. A few people have commented on the lack of details. I think he gives enough information to get you started on your OWN research. The techniques require work, perserverence and diligence, just like other aspects of life. I'm already making money using a few tips from this book and anticipate making much more. Check this book out: you won't regret it!

Summary: Great book!
Review: If you've seen my personal list of book reviews you can see that I read a lot of motivational/money-making books. Several years ago I read Creating Wealth, also by Bob Allen. I really liked that book, so I was sure I'd like this one. One drawback- yes, as another viewer pointed out, the author is pushing his wares at every turn. How do you think he got rich! You've got to take advantage of every possible medium. Nevertheless, this book gives a person a lot to think about. It is well worth reading.

Summary: True ways To build wealth - not hype
Review: This book was the best investment I've made all year. I'm currently writing a 400-page book with all the confidence of knowing I will succeed as an infopreneur thanks to Robert Allen. He is truly one of the greatest marketing minds on the planet! That isn't just my opinion... It's shared by many other top multi millionaire marketers as well. If everybody acted on just ONE of the streams of income Robert Allen talks about, they would be much wealthier. These are excellent vehicles to build wealth for anyone. So what if he offers more specific, detailed info (back end products) if you call his office or check out his website. That's smart of him! I want more information. Especially on quality stuff, not scams -- and that works. He is not blatant -- unlike so many bad marketers out there with their flashing ORDER NOW! signs plastered all over their websites. He knows that people will come to him for more guidance because what he offers is sound and truthful. Investing, marketing, and Real Estate... Anyone of these mountains can make us all rich. The information contained in any single one of these chapters is more than enough to get big results from... without needing anything else -- if we just do it! Just like someone else mentioned... Robert T. Kiyosaki shows you what you must do. Robert Allen shows you HOW to do it! The only book I'll ever need to make my million. Actually, this book will make me a millionaire three times over, using three of the streams he talks about! Great book. Buy it and use it like I am! Thank you Robert Allen.
