Rating: Summary: Great information Review: Want to buy a home? This book will tell you why you should. Definitely biased towards home ownership, but for good reasons. Very informative and easy to read.
Rating: Summary: Buy smart, invest wisely Review: Want to make sure your Realtor doesn't steer you wrong-either through dishonesty or ignorance? READ THIS BOOK. As a Realtor myself, I see the dark side of our business all too often. "Make the sale, pocket the commission" rules the mindset of most agents. Why do I want homebuyers to read 106 Mistakes? Because it means more business for straightshooting sales professionals(like myself) and less business for the mindless many with whom I have to compete.
Rating: Summary: Saved our bank account Review: We had just read one of the guru real estate books that told us the great advantages of buying with a lease option when you need a little more time to rebuild your credit or add to your down payment money. That was us. We next found a willing "seller" with a house we liked. But just before we signed the papers, a friend gave us a copy of this book and told us to read the sections on lease options.Oh my God! It was clear we were about to be scammed. We were dealing with a con artist who purposely sucks people into L/Os to keep their option money. The story's much longer, but you get the point. Once we left that near mistake, I finished reading this book. Wow! I couldn't believe how little about buying and financing we really knew relative to what we thought we knew from reading other authors. For info we didn't find elsewhere, we highly recommend 106 Mistakes.
