Rating: Summary: Not for beginners Review: If you enjoy watching get-rich-quick late night TV, by all means, buy this book. For the rest of the real investers, go do a Google search on the author's name. Spend a few minute researching before spending your money. I did the research and brought the book anyway, because I want to see what Whitney has to say. It turns out a lot better than I had expected. I think he copied a little here and there from other books.I would not recommand this book to beginners, because they don't know enough to know what they don't know, and this book only teaches and motivates readers enough to get them into trouble.
Rating: Summary: ugh Review: My goodness, he is back. Stay away, just another real estate guru. He is the only one who get wealthy from you purchasing his rehashed book of years ago.
Rating: Summary: Most comprehensive book on real estate investing Review: Russ Whitney has given away the farm with this offering. He explores virtually every strategy in real property investing and holds nothing back. His writing style is easily understood - plain language and simple concepts. If you're a self-starter, you could honestly follow the guidelines in this book to a successful investing career.
Rating: Summary: written by a convicted CRIMINAL (and VIOLENT at that) Review: The New York Prisons Department has a file on the author. He did time for a VIOLENT crime. This book is 100% worthless. I'm amazed with the amount of people who go with it and the author. The wolrd is filled with uncritical, naive people! Read more at: http://www.johntreed.com/ReedonWhitney.html
Rating: Summary: Everything You need to know tomake $$ in real estate Review: This book is the most comprehensive book on real estate I've ever read. I've been to many courses, and have read other books, but this one offers advice on everything you could imagine when it comes to buying, investing in,maintaining, and selling real estate. It's not a "get rich quick" book. And that's a good thing. Russ explains that you need to surround yourself with a wealth team to advise you and guide you (especially if you're new at this) so you make the best decisions. If you're serious about making money in Real Estate, I'd advise buying this book!
Rating: Summary: Good beginner book Review: This book was very helpful. It covers a wide rang of real estate topics that new investors should all explore. However, it's definitely for the NEW investor only. If you're a seasoned pro, this book has no use to you. This book goes over Wholesaling, Lease Options, Foreclosures/Preforclosures, Auctions, Mobile Homes, Government Grants, Rehabbing, Property Management, Notes, Asset Protection and a few other chapters on different things. It's a book that covers generally everything. If your new, get it and find out what technique you like best then go out and get a course or a book on that single technique, master that technique then go out and master another. Again, this book is for people just starting out in real estate and not for the intermediate level investor.
Rating: Summary: Not too comprehensive or detailed. Review: While the book is well written, it gives no knowledge to the real estate investment game. It seems more like a build up to get the readers interested in what they may succeed at, with his instructions. In other words, just another sell for his on going training. Save your money and watch the infomercial. It's about the same information and interviews.
Rating: Summary: My wake-up call for retirement Review: Wow! After reading Russ Whitney's book Millionaire Real Estate Mentor, I am reminded that I am going to have to work for myself if I am to retire the way I envision. I also realize that I could have helped my neighbors survive the foreclosure of their house without going bankrupt. Actually, if they had read the book, they could have saved themselves. I am attracted to real estate because I know that it is the most stable way for me to create a secure future for myself. Anyway, this book is written in language I could understand, and covered every aspect of real estate investment I have ever heard about, and more. I plan to put this book to good use. Right now, I am looking at rehabbing distressed properties, and later on, I anticipate delving into rentals and lease options. This guy knows what he is talking about.

Rating: Summary: Why does Amazon keep deleting the one star reviews? Review: You should always take any Amazon "rating" and subtract about 2 stars since they delete the unfavorable reviews and let the authors write many 5 star reviews under different names and post them. This is the third or fourth reveiw I've written for this book. It is esentially a collection of late night TV commercials so save your money. You might also do an internet search on the author's name before buying.
