Review: I find this book a neat combo of interesting topics in electronics from analog to digital world. I'd call it nice review and not something for absolute novice because it has way, way too many errors. Let's hope Mr Scherz with publish new version in near future, errata for old one and also start labeling references and quotes where the original authors deserve it. I bought digital version of the book and that turned out as total nightmare. Adobe book reader is nonreliable, so many errors at startup, I had to reinstall it several times, ended up loosing book in process and I'd have to buy it again in order to open it again. I can't even transfer it to another computer. :-(
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Amazing book Review: I haven't seen a book so complete and so well writen. This book, along with the ARRL handbook and internet are the practically the only resources I use when doing electronics. We used this book as a semester text book. I wouldn't pass this book buy, especially if you're just starting out. I noticed, like a few other reviewers, that the book has typos and some mistakes. My professor, however, mentioned that the author made corrections to the book, and that the newer printings are supposed to corrected. I checked it out at the bookstore and it seems to be true. In all, a great book.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A good start but not ready for prime time. Review: I looked at the book and was very pleasantly surprised. So, I bought the book, I read the book, and I returned the book. Too many errors. This book has great potential. After the errors are corrected I plan to buy it again. ***** Update: I went back and looked at the book again. It really does have a lot of good information in spite of all the errors. With a really good discount I just couldn't pass it up so I bought it again even though it really bugs me to pay...for a paperback book with so many errors. I've emailed McGraw-Hill twice asking for errata information/location and after about a month I still haven't received a response. Did anyone at McGraw-Hill proofread this book before it went to print? (Incomplete sentences, grammatical errors, typos, etc.) I sort of regret having bought it again but I am going to keep it this time.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: grrr Review: I love this book. I carry it with me to read/study when I have some spare time. But the typos are killing me. There's at least 4 on the 1st page of the Preface. And the most helpful picture in the explanation of Mosfets (Figure 4.65) is significantly wrong. I'm looking forward to a new, corrected edition.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A good combination of theory and Application Review: I really like this book. I'm fairly new at electronics and have found this book extremely useful. The theory is there, complete with all of the laws and formulas that you need to analyze the behavior of circuts. The real strength of this book is the examples. It has examples on every subject it covers, and it covers a wide variety of subjects. It's expanations for some parts are a little weak, but if you work at it you can understand them. Overall it is a very good book.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Good but not accurate Review: I thought this book would help me to understand better many concepts in electronics. But it was me who ended up correcting the book. I started reading it and I liked it, but when I started finding all types of errors, I got dissapointed and stopped reading it. I even found theoretical errors, not just typing errors. The concepts are very well presented and everything, but it is not a reliable book.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent addition to Electronics Book Collection Review: I would not recommend this as the sole electronics book in your collection, but it certainly should be the 2nd or 3rd ! Unusually clear theory discussion so you have an intuitive understanding BEFORE you move on to the mathematics of the particular subject. Excellent use of the 'water anlology' for describing current flow. Particularly enjoyed the explaination on bi-polar and MOS transistors. Easy to move from the book to the breadboard. I've ordered a 2nd copy: 1 for home and 1 for the office.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good Book Review: I'm taking electrical trades in school to find some of this stuff out. So I end up bored in the class buy this book and end up in five minutes understanding and completely covering theories covered in weeks of class work. This book is likely to make someone with a good idea a good bit of money. So labor on my brilliant friends this is your start to a very in depth understanding of electronics.-
