Summary: IF your new in RE buy this book!
Review: Great reading. I have been in Real Estate as an assistant for 4 years and found the book confirmed my views of this business. I think they should give this book when you get your RE liscence. If your new to this industry, get this book.

Summary: EXCITING!
Review: I absolutely love this book! It gave me insights to this field that I didn't even know existed. I have been contemplating entering the real estate "world" and after reading this book, I have decided to give this a try.
His words are extremely motivating and his tone is up beat the entire time.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in becoming a real estate agent, you won't be disappointed!

Summary: Too general and repetitive..............
Review: I agree with the reader that says this book does not address the real issues or addresses it superficially. There are way too many generalities and while interesting, the quotes and constant sports analogies could really be related to anything. Lots of words with little content.

Summary: This will give you the lead you need !
Review: I am a new real estate agent. Like most new agent I was VERY lost (i'm sher you know the feeling). I had no one telling me the "how to's", the "when to's", and most importantly the "why to's" of the business. Is that what I signed up for, i asked!? I was overwhelmed and nervous. I invested in books and tapes of the highest level in relation to real estate (they where very good) BUT they never gave me the BOTTOM LINE (starting for the moment you recieve |THE CERTIFICATE|to actualy thinking of making 100 000+/year)!The best investment I made was the book "YOUR FIRST YEAR IN REAL ESTATE". If you are new in the business and are looking for a mentor !? read the book. You dont know where to start !? Read the book. You want to build a solid foundation for your carreer !? Read the book. Dont be fooled by it's simingly "basic" cover, this is the book you want. Dirk Zeller's philosophy is fantastic. It is possible to work 4 days a week and still make alot of $ and have time for your family...

Summary: I'm Making Money, thanks to this book!!
Review: I bought the book before I passed my test early in April 04, started reading it and was told by "people in the know" NOT to read the book till I passed my state test.

Ok, so I put the book down and didn't read it till July when I signed on with a broker. Thank God I read this book among others. I started putting into practice the ideas and guidelines in this book.

Dirk Zeller, surely knows what he is talking about.. I have been working since July, I have had my first listing, which sold in two weeks, and I currently have 1.5 million in listings!!!

I just sold my second listing and have three more listing appointments next week. This book was a major role player in my getting these listings. I highly recommend this book to new and so called "seasoned" agents that forgot what to do to make money!!

Summary: Answered just about all of my questions, and MORE
Review: I bought this book and one other as I was doing research to enter a new career in Real Estate Sales (from something totally different). It started out with how to "interview" potential brokers, questions to ask, and things to look for. This book was exactly what I needed to help me get my foot in the door and ask the right questions.
Also, this book talks about making and maintaining relationships with all of the different constituencies in the business in a positive, upbeat, "you can do it" tone. Not to say that you don't get the real scoop on the drawbacks as well, but overall, the tone the book is written in gives you the added push if you are at all hesitant about the industry.
I'm sure I will go back to this book time and time again.
(As of 7/2002) Three months later, I have started my career in Real Estate, and know more than at my review's first writing that Mr. Zeller speaks nothing but the truth. His plan for organizing your day, and working with only clients that will bring you business and results are DEAD ON. Also see his website for more GREAT real estate commentary and suggestions...

Summary: For $14 its not bad
Review: I come from the world of hightech sales. I've been selling software for almost 20 years. With the down turn in tech I've decided to look at real estate as a potential career change and wanted to find something that could shed some light on what its like to work inside the industry. Given my strong sales background I found much of the content repetitive. Prospecting, managing clients, closing deals are all things I'm very familiar with so that didn't help me much. I'd also say there were areas where the author generalized too much, when I wanted specifics but over all I've concluded I won't find answers to all my questions in one book. Given that I thought this was a good place to start.

Summary: Your First Year in Real Estate
Review: I enjoyed reading Your 1st Year in Real Estate! I love the outline of the book. This book is a must read for any one new in the real estate business. I believe this book is going to have the greatest impact on my success this year. This book is the next best thing to Dirk Zeller personally coaching you! Dirk, Thanks for your committment to the Real Estate Industry.

Summary: A MUST FOR ANY REAL ESTATE AGENT
Review: I found this book a "must" to begin your career in Real Estate. It will explain in detail the steps to follow AFTER you have gotten your license, and it will even give you a head start while you are preparing for the license. Mr. Zeller has really come up with a winner book, with endless ideas and explanations as to what to do and what to expect. It is an excelent guide to all and it prepares you for things you had not even thought of. Enjoy, and good luck!

Summary: All pomp and No substance
Review: I have spent the last hour reading a few of the reviews for Mr. Zellers book. I have also done some simple research on the individuals who have sung the praises of Mr. Zeller.
Steve LaChance is not a REALTOR
Bonnie Mays is a trainer who couldn't sell real estate so she works for a salary.
And a few of the other fluff artist didn't leave accurate information to be followed up on.
Needless to say I found this book to be vague, I actually have my doubts now as to how Dirk Zeller could have sold Real Estate. I would like to know Dirk numbers. Anyone successful in RE usually sticks with it. Let's see some RE training material with some substance. I want a trainer that teaches me BeyondSales and selling techniques. I want a product that helps me create Momentum in my business. I want a training program that provides Accountability for my actions.
