Summary: Public Relations Kit For Dummies
Review: From the forward written by the President of IKEA to the endorsements from William Lauder to the chairman of Hill and Knowlton (largest pr firm in the world, I believe?)to the man who owns the Shaker Furniture Collection to the President of Hain Foods to PR Week to the table of contents. Absolutely first class. Chapters are well laid out. Content is amazing. Real case study examples. Bright author. Incredible experience.Interesting war stories. Great reference.

Wonder how much pr the pr guy got for his book? Or if that's why he wrote the book at all? Even so...I'm only jealous! Great, wonderful, smart, insightful book.

Review: Great book. Very well written. Typical of the Dummie series. Not sure how they picked the author they did (I never heard of him and I've been in the business 20 years), but he's a winner. I have a sneaking suspicion he'll become THE authority in a business filled with me too and how did Ketchum do it agencies. Finally a pr owner with a unique perspective and not afraid to say so. Actually, it seemed proud to say so! I had very low expectations and thought the book would ultimately be beneath me. What a shocker! Fabulous. Congrats to the author and the publishing house. A very worthwhile book for your business.

Review: Great IKEA pr stories including a foreward by their President that really drove home a point about effective public relations. The foreward was so indicative of a leader of a corporation who clearly understood the value of pr!

I loved Part V, which was Creating Buzz. This book is very worth reading. With so many stories to illustrate points being made, it's a very easy read.

Great pr examples of Jose Cuervo, IBM, Cabbage Patch Kids, Gillette, Progressive Insurance, Hain Foods, and Domino's Pizza.

Some good celebrity examples of Cal Ripken and El Duque.

Good book. Who is this author though? Writes well. But I never heard of him?

Review: Heard the author talking about Clinton on Bloomberg. Sounded pretty smart so I bought his book. He's smarter in the book. Really interesting stories. Good instruction. Cuts to the meat. Highly recommend this book. Extremely well written.

Review: I am a college professor who has taught this topic for almost 30 years. I had one disapointmentin reading this wonderfully well written book about the trade of public relations. Not much history about how the art was practiced vs. how it is now. That one criticism aside, the book was the most insightful, inspiring, unique, thought provoking book I may have come across in my teaching career. It will surely be required reading at my classes. Unfortunately the title of the book does it no justice. This book should be read by both novice and old pro. Five stars! A delight to read. A rarer delight to learn. My thanks to the authors for teaching an old dog some new tricks!

Summary: This Dummy Loved It!
Review: I am a PR major, and I am often looking for related reference material. This book was it! It is easy to read, and contains
up-to-date information. I also recommend Michael Levine's Guerrilla PR to any PR students out there. These two books have made a huge difference to my grade, and will remain on my desk after I graduate!

Review: I bought this book after reading something about it in the New York Post. I read this book cover to cover in two days. This is a book anyone who owns a business should read! I never understood what pr was, let alone how to use it for my business. Now I do. I'm starting today. I also realized that the peice I read in the Post was yet another brilliant marketing tactic used by the author to get me to buy his book. It worked!

Summary: It Could Be Better
Review: I bought this book because of the great reviews I read about it and with the hope that it will give me some realistic and clear-cut advice on how to practise PR and what exactly PR is all about. Despite the fact that this book provides a very easy reading with real-life examples (limited to the authors company), there is a lot of simplicity and repetition to the extend that the reader may skip entire sentenses in order to spare himself the trouble of reading the same stuff again. Furthermore, the information given is neither new nor enlightening for any reader who has some basic Business Administration knowledge. I enjoyed very much a couple of the author's tips and examples but other than that I would recommend this book only to true beginners, i.e. college students or people from totally irrelevant disciplines (e.g. architects).

Review: I have grown a multi million dollar company literally from a dozen different Dummy books I have read. This one is the best! Awesome information! Easy to follow like all the books are. The publisher got some big name in the business (public relations) and he tells you some big name stories! I'd read about so many of them over the years and now see who and what was behind those great stories I saw on television or read about in the newspaper! You really won't believe how easy pr can be to understand and implement with a book like this one. This book might just be the last piece of a puzzle I need to be a multi billionaire instead of millionaire! I literally mean that. I highly recommend this one. Congratulations to the publishing house on another great book!

Review: I owned and ran a mid size agency in NYC, LA, London, and Toronto for 35 years before selling the company and settling into retirement. I think I have read every title on the topic. This is the single best resource I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The author knows the field. His perspective is both unique and refreshing. The language is simple to understand. The logic is sound. The examples the author uses in the book are first hand experience and were fun to read about. The only shame of this title is I fear that your average CEO or Marketing Manager will not read it because of the title. That would be a huge mistake! Fabulous reading!
