Rating: Summary: Why do I get the feeling the "customer" reviews for this... Review: ...are phony? Maybe because they all say the same thing? Maybe because they are all from a "reader in Major City, USA". I can't pinpoint it, but c'mon. Twenty reviewers have nothing else to say but that it was well written with organized chapters and the writer is oh so smart and amazing and WAS ON TELEVISION!
Rating: Summary: A Business Owners Dream..... Review: Any person that owns a business must read this book. I even suggest it for public speakers of any industry!!
Rating: Summary: Public Relations Kit For Dummies Review: As interesting as a pr book as I have ever read. Very refreshing perspectives into this not so "magical" profession. You can read this book and actually do something with it. What a pleasant surprise! The author seems a little opionated at times, but I suppose that comes with the category? Or does it?The case studies discussed in the book were truely inspirational and actaully not more of the same (for a well regarded change!). The praises at the beginning of the book were from such a varying group of well known entrepreneurs and CEO's, I had to read it! There is an introduction from what appears to be a regional president of IKEA Home Furnishings. Based on examples in the book, you will learn they are a client of the author agency. No wonder they get such great press! Bet his firm didn't work on Firestone! Excellent for a "mom and pop", a start-up, entrepreneur, Marketing VP in corporate life, and maybe a CEO or two!
Rating: Summary: BECOME A PR PRO IN NO TIME AT ALL Review: At last, all the tricks of the Public Relations trade in one easy-to-follow volume. Yaverbaum, co-founder of Jericho Communications, a New York-based PR firm, has successfully promoted such highly visible brand clients as IKEA, Sony, Domino's Pizza, Bell Atlantic, and others. Here he provides detailed information on how to promote any type of business, product, or cause. There are chapters on why public relations is a powerful marketing tool, finding the right firm, or setting up your own PR department, strategizing and executing PR ideas, laying the groundwork from press releases and newsletters, to pitching TV, radio and print contacts. Other PR techniques include detailed explanations for staging publicity events, spotting PR opportunities, crucial advice on handling a crisis, and evaluating the results. Yaverbaum illustrates the value of PR through the Ten Greatest PR Coups of All Time, and gives tips for improving writing skills, how to deal with the media, and advice on the ten things you should never do in the name of PR. Practical, informative, user-friendly, and results-oriented, I can't think of a better or more comprehensive introduction to the subject than this outstanding guide.

Rating: Summary: Public Relations Kit For Dummies Review: Big winner. Very worth reading. Loved it. This is a business book we're talking about here. Who loves business books? You gotta read this one. Great stories. Real stuff. Great read. If you think one more guy who claims to be "out of the box" and isn't wrote this book. Very incorrect. Here it actually is. Plenty of "In the Box" also. So well thought out. Six stars!
Rating: Summary: Public Relations Kit For Dummies Review: Boring. Felt like I was in school listening to Mrs. McCumbre. I will admit I learned though. Hard to get through the whole book. Although, I'm glad I did.
Rating: Summary: Public Relations Kit For Dummies Review: Cool. Read this for a class assignment. Real world...not academic. I'm a college junior and I feel like I could do some great pr today! I'd like to try! Inspiring. Maybe there are other marketing functions that are as fun? If so I'd like to know about them. If not thanks to the Dummies folks for helping me find one that is.
