Summary: Use your common sense and look on the web...
Review: Most of the information in this book just boils down to common sense and with a little persistence, could be found on the web. Unfortunately, the author isn't truly helpful in that he doesn't include a list of creditors who are willing to take a "second chance" with people who have declared bankruptcy. If you are too lazy to do homework for yourself, then this book would be helpful, if you can stand the overly religious tones of the text. Personally, I found the preachy nature of some of the text quite offensive in a book that advertises itself to offer financial advice.

Summary: Mostly Common Sense
Review: I found this book of very little value. I do not share the author's guidelines that to succesfully rebuild your credit after bankruptcy that you have to give away your pets and find religion. Most of the content is mere common sense and gets very repititive. The author is obviously basking in the good life after his bankruptcy by selling overpriced advice, all of which could be summed up in 10-15 pages.

Summary: A New Outlook
Review: This book gave me a new outlook on what was a very traumatic time in my life. I recommend this book to anyone who is even thinking about filing for bankruptcy. I have bought it for two friends, one who is filing and one who is thinking of filing. Stephen's book is very easy to read. My Chapter 7 bankruptcy was discharged in April 2000. I now have more than $15,000 in a money market account. I leased a brand new 2000 Ford Eddie Bauer Expedition for 3 years at 6.9% with very little down! Stephen lays out step-by-step what to do to obtain new credit and how NOT to obtain the wrong kind of credit. He also discusses how to qualify for a new home. I must have fifteen page markers in this book. I use it almost on a daily basis to guide me through rebuilding my credit and thus rebuilding my life. My husband and I have gone back to church and we are giving charitably. It is true how what you give comes back to you two-fold! My husband and I have greatly improved our finances through a promotion and a new job! We have found a mortgage broker that has approved us for a new mortgage. And, we are working with a builder to build our dream home! Our financial future has never looked more secure!

I never would have thought all these things were possible. This book changed my attitude about bankruptcy and has given me and my husband a new financial outlook.

Summary: Great Book - One to keep for months to come
Review: I read Stephen's book in two days. It was so easy to read and the information in the book was so very helpful. I thought I was doing everything the right way, however, Stephen's book told me that I was doing everything wrong!

This is a must have for anyone who is recovering after a bankruptcy.

Summary: There really is a Life (with credit) after Bankruptcy!
Review: Stephen Snyder's book is one that I will refer to constantly until I get back the credit I lost! The wealth of information and resources it contains will help anyone who has gone through a bankruptcy, regain control of their finances as well as their own personal lives! It is well written and simple to understand in plain english. I believe Stephen wrote this book not to just help all of us, but to show us the way to recovery and find our hope and faith again! Great book!
