Summary: This book is filled with helpful & useful information!!...
Review: I love this book and it will be my financial bible for the next 2 years, or until I get into a house, whichever comes first!
Helpful & useful information. I did not feel "preached" at at all!... It is all stuff I didn't know or realize, but will certainly put into practice now that I do know!... Nothing redundant. Just a great book for anyone who has claimed bankruptcy!.. Highly recommend!.. Wonderful!... Thank you Stephen, and your wife too!! :0)
God Bless...........

Summary: I am Queen of the credit world!
Review: That's what this book did for me. At first, when I picked it up I was skeptical, thinking that there's no magic to be done, just wait it out and eventually you might be able to lead a normal life again - if you're lucky. Stephen Snyder showed me that this is not the way it has to be. By following his simple steps, I've completely re-established myself in the credit-worthy world. I can't thank you enough for the confidence you've given me, Stephen.

Summary: Not Very Useful
Review: First: Read other reviews carefully. Some are from people associated with the author -- one from the author himself! That 4-star rating may be skewed ...

Second: If you are not Christian, you'll find this book preachy. If you are Christian, you may still find this book preachy.

Third: The book lacks practicality. It is hard to figure out the author's directions for getting back on track. I bought this and two other books to help recover from Chapter 7. This was the worst of the three.

Summary: A quick recovery will soon follow-
Review: I personally think that anyone who reads this book with realize that filing bankruptcy can be a good thing. Stephen and his wife are doing something extra ordinarily special, going out of their way to help people like myself. It's an easy read and I can truly say that it is a step by step plan to lasting recovery. If you follow the steps- a quick recovery will soon follow!!

Summary: Impractical and Preachy - Better Books Available
Review: I recently filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy and needed information about what to do next. I ordered two books: "Credit After Bankruptcy" by Snyder and "Bounce Back from Bankrupcy" by Paula Langguth Ryan. I strongly recommend the book by Ryan. To compare: Snyder's book is preachy; Ryan's practical. Snyder has long prose; Ryan sticks to the facts and what you need to do. Snyder does not provide forms or contacts (except for those he knows personally); Ryan does. Snyder explains one method for recovery, the one that worked for him. Ryan provides alternate strategies so you can figure out what will work best for you. Snyer's book is from 1998, Ryans updated in 2001. Ryan also explains in her book how to rent a car without a credit card, how to create a sensible post-bankruptcy budget. Finally, Ryan's book is half the price.

BTW, a couple of the positive reviews for Snyder's book know him personally. One even notes that he edits Snyder's magazines. That should set have alarm bells -- I regret it did not for me. As for me, I know neither author.

Summary: This book is a joke!
Review: Unfortunately I had to file for bankruptcy several years ago. Since some time has passed since I filed, I bought this book with the hopes that there might be some useful information that could help me get started cleaning up problems on my credit report. This book didn't even explain how to deal with inaccuracies on your report, but rather spouted off with a bunch of high morality bs. For example, there are mentions that finding your religion will help you. I'm sorry, I don't see a connection there. And I know I didn't pay good money for this book to get preached to.

Well, I was still trying to have an open mind with this book. There might be some good info to come, right? WRONG! Here is an example of methods described in this book to re-establish credit. It says you should apply for credit cards, but never apply to banks that spell bank with a "c" at the end, like this "banc". Huh? What the heck is this author talking about?

Find another book on the subject, there has to be a better one than this. There sure aren't any worse.

Summary: Pure Waste of Money
Review: Buying this book is a total waste of money. I bought it after a bankruptcy and tought it moght help. The information was laughable. He doesn't even tell the proper was to read a credit report. Instead you get a lot of religious preaching. If you are a weak minded person that needs a sermon and want to through away money, please buy this book. For all others it is a TOTAL waste!!!!

Summary: Christian's Guide to Credit After Bankruptcy
Review: If you have twenty-five cents worth of common sense and some free literature from the Gideon people, you have all the knowledge available in this book. If you want to be force fed Mr. Snyder's interpretation of Christian morality, by all means make this purchase. If you want to know anything about "Credit After Bankruptcy," save your money.

Summary: TRY IT - IT WORKS - I AM ECSTATIC!
Review: I went to his seminar and also bought the book. I couldn't beleive that there was life after bankruptcy - and also CREDIT AFTER BANKRUPTCY. Six days after my bankruptcy was discahrged - I was approved for a credit card by a national bank; and they report to all three credit bureaus - monthly. If you follow the book - it will change your life - it has changed mine. You don't have to hide after bankruptcy - you can crawl out from under the covers and really have a life. I can't tell you how happy I am that I went to his seminar and I bought the book. And after the seminar they make themselves available to you for any questions.

Summary: Solid advice that has proven to work
Review: This is a very easy book to read and understand. Some have said it's all about common sense. Well, how many people use common sense when it comes to credit? I believe that if you follow the advice in this book financial freedom will come to you. Obviously it has to Stephen and Michelle. They are telling you from their life experiences, not by simply studying facts and figures from the internet. If you need guidance and are not sure where to turn buy this book!!
