Rating: Summary: Inspiring business leadership, finally Review: This is the best book on business leadership and ethics I have ever read, bar none. For aspiring leaders, current senior managers, or just people who want to know what they should expect from business people this is the book. Bill George is not a theorist; he led the team that built Medtronic from a fine company to a great one. His ethical, humane, open and long term approach to business leadership is the message we want and need to hear. His candid, and sometimes surprisingly person, story of how he developed his values and applied them to build Medtronic is facinating as well as inspiring.
Rating: Summary: Leading Leaders-- George does it! Review: This is the book I hope I could write in 20 more years. The leadership advice in George's book applies to all types of organizations. He is confident enough in his beliefs to directly disagree with many of the 'experts' of the current economy, while offering sound bottom line reasons for doing it the right way. With so many Enron and WorldCom-type stories dominating the press, it's nice for those who want to provide real business growth to be able to rally around Bill George and 'Authentic Leadership.' Read this book. Don't be afraid to do the right thing, no matter where you are in the leadership ladder. This book will help you succeed, and make the world a better place as a bonus!
