Summary: Tax Liens are a no brainer, wealth generator
Review: 16% is about average rate of return on a tax lien. In NY, NJ area, you can earn 18%. In Texas, 50%.Tax liens lets you make money like the banks do. Some banks own up to a billion $$$ in tax liens. That should tell you how profitable and safe they are.The real profits are if the lien is not paid. Then you get the deed to the house. $1,000 can get you a $100,000 home. If the lien is paid, you get your money back compoounded at 16%-50%, government guaranteed.Not bad in my book.

Summary: Earning High Yield during a low yield economy
Review: A little over two years ago, I started to reposition my portfolio moving out of some stocks and stock funds and moving into money market funds and high yield bond funds.Although I am for the most part, a full time stock trader, I decided to look for something safer, with more profit in addition to but with less emphasis on stocks. I FOUND IT WITH TAX LIENS. TLC's (tax lien certificates or deed of trust) are without a doubt the safest, highest yielding investments out there. I almost bought a TLC COURSE OFF LATE NIGHT TV, but elected to buy this book instead on the recommendation of a friend. Good move.This book makes buying TLC'S easy and understandable even to the most naive to this investment.I highly recommend this book. TLC's are also covered in More Wealth without Risk. If you are interested in personal finance, I highly recommend Ordinary People, Extraordinary Wealth and The Truth about Money by Edelman and to make money in stocks, suggest any of the Wall Street Money Machine series by Wade Cook.Tax Liens are a great investment. Summary: Tax liens - lucrative and fun
Review: Although there is no investment that is completely safe, tax liens come as close as possible. Why? Because your profits are is guaranteed by the US government and secured by real estate.

Tax liens used to be a secret known only by insiders and savvy investors. The word is getting out. Books like the 16% Solution are getting the word out and a lot of investors are not too happy with that.

You can earn from 5% in states like Louisiana to 50% in states like Michigan.

Caution: Don't buy into the false hopes perpetrated on late night tv and try to use Tax Liens as a get rich quick scheme. Like any other investment, it's a process and you have to know what you are doing. 16% Solution is a good start.

It used to be that you had to buy tax liens only through auctions. Now you can buy tax liens through the mail and even on the internet.

I recommend the 16% Solution as a excellent book to help you get started in investing in tax liens.

Summary: Does not work--at least not in New Jersey
Review: Contrary to the description in this book, buying tax-lien certificates is NOT a way to get a high return on investment, at least not in New Jersey. The bidding begins at an interest rate of 18% and goes down from there. Almost none of the liens sell for more than 10%. In fact, sometimes the rate went below 0%, i.e., the "investor" paid the municipality for the privilege of holding the lien. The book said this was possible, but I didn't think anyone would actually do it. Why people did this is a mystery to me? Perhaps they were hoping for a default.

If you think you might be interested in investing in tax-lien certificates in New Jersey, go to a tax sale before you shell out any money for this book. Call a municipality and ask for the tax collector. In my experience, the tax collectors were very polite and helpful and were often willing to mail me a list of properties. Once you see what kind of interest rates tax-lien certificates actually pay, you can decide whether you think they're a worthwhile investment. Actually, seeing the auction is an interesting experience even if you're not particularly interested in buying tax-lien certificates.

By the way, at the auction I went to, investors tried to collude to divide up the liens rather than bid on them. It didn't work because there were too many people there, and they all wanted more than one or two liens. I have no idea whether this was legal.

Summary: Very Good Starter Guide, but there is still LOTS of WORK!!!
Review: For a topic that is just resurging to the attention of investors, investing in Tax Liens Certificates can be the BEST thing. But, don't expect to have it easy. You have to do the work and due diligence. Good things come to those who wait, work and read about it! And this book is going to be one of your great guides because this book is a great read, easy to follow and very Comprehensive. It will save you time and help you focus. The other important aspect to be successful at this is Networking with other investors. It will also help you tremendously. Review: Great book. Joel does an excellent job of keeping the topic of purchasing tax lien certificates very simple and easy to understand. With this book, I *WILL* be that much closer early retirement.

Summary: Tax Liens Are The Way To Go
Review: I didn't know anything about tax liens prior to reading the book. The very thought of buying someone elses debt didn't make any sense to me prior to reading this book. I learned that tax liens are backed by real property and is a government run program. You will get paid or get the property at well below market value period! The best part is the government handles it all for you so you do not have to deal with the property owners yourself. You can't get a safer investment than this. I live in a state that pays 18% interest on tax liens and that is what credit cards charge!

I was able to read the book in one day and go out and buy tax liens the next day. That is how clearly the author explains the process. If you are looking for a high return investment that is safe and does not bounce up and down like the stock market, then tax liens are the way to go. A must read for anyone who is interested in investing.

Review: I find it fascinating at the number of ridiculous reviews with absolutely inaccurate information of the tax lien process posted here.

Beware of people trying to cheat you of the powerful returns offered by tax liens.

Read the book and do some research yourself. Start with your local courthouse. DON'T run an ad asking for help from other TLC investors, like the 1 star bashers, they prefer you think this investment doesn't exist or isn't profitable. They definitely DON'T want competition.

TLC's are among the safest, most powerful investments around. Start with this book and invest for profit.

Summary: Very Informative
Review: I first heard about tax lien certificates in Robert Kiyosaki's book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad." I was so intrigued that I had to find out more about it. I am so glad I read this book; it gives state by state information on this little known investment opportunity. Although Pennsylvania, where I live, does not offer tax lien certificates, I am excited about giving this a shot in one of my neighboring states.

Tax liens are a very powerful and safe investment tool. Imagine government guaranteed returns of 18%-50%!

WARNING: Many investors hope you never find out about tax liens. I attended a tax lien auction in Miami county, Fl and also one in Pennsylvania. The attitude is somewhat like a library with a hush and everyone looks on you like a outsider.

I recommend you attend a auction in your area to fully appreciate the value of tax liens. First, read this book and I also recommend More Wealth Without Risk for tax liens and other financial information.

Tax leins are a fantastic way to achieve Wealth Without Risk.
