Rating: Summary: Really helped me with the kinetics Review: After paying $150 for Dipiro's huge difficult to handle book and having trouble understanding it, I bought this book and was really happy I did. It was so easy to understand and I felt as I wasted money. It had all I needed for the Master's Pharm course I took and then some.
Rating: Summary: Best prescription for pharmacology students Review: An incredible resource. I'm using it instead of the expensive, hard-to-read pharmacology texts recommended by faculty. The illustrations make it perfect for visual learners (such as myself).
Rating: Summary: Good review book, great pictures and summaries Review: As a medical student studying pharmacology for class and for the USMLE, I have found this book to be very helpful. It makes a good reference as well as a good review book. The pictures are very helpful, and the text summarizes the most important information. They include many drugs with concise descriptions.
Rating: Summary: good Review: Bought this one as a supplement for pharmacology. Its intended to be an outline of pharmacology, so don't buy it if you want specifics. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because of the crazy drawings they use for remembering adverse effects (maybe they help students remember?).
Rating: Summary: Pharm in text Review: For most medical students, pharmacology is just route memorization. This book does a great deal to let you understand the mechanism of action and indications for the major drugs. By no means is this book to be substituted for your pharmacology textbook but it perfect to read as a companion to your textbook and lecture. Goes through the high yield material and allows you to know what is important for your test.
I do not recommend this book for USMLE, I think it is too big and detailed. I think you need to stick with a book that allows you to cram. What i would suggest is to read the pharmacology section of First Aid.
Rating: Summary: This book is a very good and well organized source. Review: I finally found a perfect book for a study of Pharmacology. Concise and still abundand source of information. Very good for any kind of review, especially for the USMLE exams (any part).
Rating: Summary: great study guide Review: i have been using this book even after graduation, all the mechanism of action questions are answered in a very clear way. i have had this book for 4 years and still loving it. great buy!
Rating: Summary: Simplifies difficult concepts Review: I never would have done so well without this book. It really concisely explains difficult concepts. I think the illustrations and tables are what did it for me. If you need one text to learn this is it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: I thought this book was excellent. It is very well presented. I found the case studies and the update in the back of the book most helpful.
