Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: An easy to read and understand book characterized with the breadth of material and examples.
Rating: Summary: must for professional accounting students around the world Review: As a chartered Accounting teacher of 12 years standing in India I must say that this is one of the most amazing works on the subject.Only a teacher of such profound knowledge as Prof Horn Gren could have written such a book.I strongly recommend CA students in India and around the world to use this book if they want to get their 'fundas' right.
Rating: Summary: Highly recommended. Review: Book was received as described and was shipped on time. AAA+
Rating: Summary: Student Guide...Accounting: A Managerial Emphasis Review: Great book! Very helpful on basic concepts.
Rating: Summary: very thorough Review: I am a student, and was wondering if there is a solutions manual that accompanies this book that has all the answers and not just the even numbered ones. if so email me back and I'll probably order it.
Rating: Summary: Can someone help me? Review: I am looking to buy this book for someone else. It seems there's a text book and there's a solutions manual by the same name, and i am looking for the latter. Can someone help me and tell me if this is the one i am looking for? Thanks in advance
Rating: Summary: Good definitions, bad examples. Review: I find this book very difficult to understand. Too often, there are formulas written right into sentences, and not in any special order. I would much prefer that the definition for a particular term is given in a sentence, then have the formula off to the right, or in the middle of the page, separated from the definition. This book gives very good definitions of terms, but very poor examples of the exercises that are given in the back of the chapters for review. In the chapter, there is maybe one type of problem, yet in the back of the chapter, 10 different problems too different from the given example.
Rating: Summary: Accounting books are rough to begin with. Review: I got very little out of the book - it didn't seem to focus on real-life situations. It was quite clear, but just didn't seem relevant. However, the examples/problems combined with the solution manual were quite helpful in mastering the given topics. Books by Krachey and Schindelar were a bit better.
Rating: Summary: THE BOOK IS EXCELLENT FOR STUDENTS IN INDIA. Review: I HAPPEN TO READ THE BOOK IN THE INSTITUTE OF COST ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA'S LIBRARY. THE BOOK WAS WONDERFUL. MOST OF THE PROBLEMS SET IN OUR FINAL EXAMINATIONS WERE TAKEN OR COPIED WITH MINOR VARIATIONS FROM YOUR BOOK. THEREFORE IT IS VERY USEFUL FOR STUDENTS LIKE US TO READ YOUR BOOKS AND SCORE GOOD MARKS IN THE EXAMINATION.HOWEVER THE BOOK DOES NOT CONTAIN DETAILED SOLUTIONS. AS A RESULT WE ARE UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND FULLY THE METHODOLOGY OF SOLVING IT. AND THE PRICING IN INDIA IS VERY HIGH TO AFFORD THIS BOOK. THIS MAY BE CONSIDERED BY THE AUTHOR TO MAKE THIS BOOK AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE FOR AN AVERAGE INDIAN STUDENT. THANKING YOU, YOURS FAITHFULLY, M. RAGHU RAMAN
