Rating: Summary: My copy is in awful shape Review: ...because I have picked it up so many times...
Whenever I need to know something, (what about laundry machines? How do I manage all these keys? How can I get this prick out of my apartment?), the book covers everything. Read the section you are experiencing in real life as you go.
I had to read some really dumbed down (and really abstract) property management/landlording books before I found this one (the 'Income Stream' was the most idiotic piece of garbage....)
the only drawback is that the cover isn't durable enough! Hardcover on the next edition please!
Rating: Summary: Good, practical advice Review: As a publisher - Guide for Landlords and Tenants, I have read a number of self help books. This book is good for both Landlords and Tenants. Keep it close by, and read a few pages here and there. For a few $ a month, give it to the tenant as welcome gift and highlight the right pages....
Rating: Summary: bloated Review: Author is getting out of touch with the landlord business and must be paid by the word. I have bought a couple editions and this last one is filled with fluff. As a small landlord I am short of time, including reading time. Get to the point dear writer.
Rating: Summary: Buy It!! Review: Awesome! As a licensed Realtor & a beginner landlord, I find this guide to be a very helpful resource. Wish I had read it before I bought my first income property. I refer to it regularly and appreciate Robinson's sense of humor. Includes everything from eviction procedure to 1031 exchanges with pro's & con's to many possible scenarios. While I don't follow every recommendation, the insight is always helpful!

Rating: Summary: Great book!...... Review: Great book I found at the library. Now I'm going to buy it, good to have for reference.
Rating: Summary: Buying Second Copy! Review: I bought this book years ago and have used it so much that the pages are coming out of their binding. This has been an invaluable resource over the 10+ years of owning rental property.
Rating: Summary: The best book of its kind Review: I first read an older edition of this from the library, and immediately ordered the current edition. If you are going to own only one book on being a landlord, this has to be the one. Very easy to read and understand, and every bit of advice is practical and do-able. Not a book on how to get rich in real estate, but how to get the most from rental property you own without going nuts, whether its a spare sleeping room or a 200 unit multiplex.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST!! Review: I have scoured the internet and the local book stores for books on this subject, and I have found this one to be the best by far. The format is VERY user friendly. It is filled with enough information to satisfy people who are currently in the business but easy enough for a beginner (such as myself) to understand. Trust me, you want this book, but you should also have another one that is specific to your locale. This book gives you everything you need to know EXCEPT the local laws and regulations that are specific to your state/city.
Rating: Summary: The best and easiest! Review: I initially bought the 3rd edition of this book. I read it twice and highlighted many areas for further reference. Any time I had a problem as a landlord it was because I deviated from the advice. I have since bought a more recent version of this book and was sad to see that some of the chapters from the earlier book had been eliminated. Those chapters were vital to me in my early days as a landlord. Still, this book gives good advice in a humorous manner and is easy reading.
