Summary: Pow! A Must-Have For Your Business Library!!
Review: Sam Brannan, author of Look To The Rock

Kevin and Jackie have done it again! Guts! is even better than Nuts!, which is hard to believe if you read their first remarkable book! The difference between the Freiberg's approach to writing about business management and so many other writers' (ncluding myself), is their excellent ability to capture the pure essence of the most successful leaders of our times. Their crisp, simple approach to business-as-not-so-usual is exactly what we in corporate America need to embrace. Look forward to Freiberg's Book III!

Summary: It takes GUTS to not be a sheep.
Review: The Freiberg's have written another compelling book with GUTS!, and they represent their compelling vision for organizations with clear examples and straightforward recommendations. This book is as usable as it is inspirational. Read this book if you want to help your own organization become better, or if you want to help other organizations improve in what are viewed as non-traditional ways.

Summary: Guts! A different kind of business book!
Review: The Friebergs have met their own mission "to tell stories that improve organizations and inspire people to live bigger, better, more fulfilling lives." Backed by years of research and interviews, Guts! gives voice to a disparate group of business leaders who show us that vision, passion, living one's values, and treating people with openness and trust are the keys to greatness.

Like Nuts!, Guts! is a different kind of business book. Most are either dry (and boring) or simple "enter-trainment" (fluff without substance). This book is a delight to read. It's written using the same principles it espouses for business: it's fun, different, creative and gutsy. And filled to the brim with practical advice that can and should be used by anyone - business owners and men and women at all levels in their organizations. The Gut Checks are especially good as both summaries of the information and guidelines for the reader's own actions.

The principles in Guts! aren't just great business ideas; they make sense for any organization. Imagine these principles in use in schools, government institutions, in fact in human relationships in any setting. The book inspired me. I read it and found myself dreaming of great new ideas for use with my business clients, my university students, and my family. I am giving copies to everyone.

Summary: Gut Check...!!!
Review: This is a great book! Kevin and Jackie Freiberg have outdone themselves. Guts! will inspire you to dig a little deeper and look at how you approach your work and your responsibilities. It is full of great examples of gutsy leaders from all types of businesses. These examples are worth the time, but the introspection they create is invaluable. Don't be fooled by the easy-to-read style. If you come away entertained and informed then you've missed the point. This book should stir your gut a little. Read it now for a great GUT CHECK! I'm sure you will add this to your list of "must keep and read again" specials.

Summary: Inspiration Food!
Review: When you're looking for inspiration to lead your team, this is the perfect food.Be prepared for generous servings of pride of ownership, innovative approaches, hard work and a caring, human touch combined with gutsy risk-taking ability! The recipe works for all customers, whatever their mood, appetite or circumstances.
On the surface,it appears to be the opposite of "Neutron Jack's" 'tough-guy'approach but deep down they both share a common management style-cherishing and valuing employee contributions at all levels.

Summary: Why bother?
Review: Why bother to read a book when a review alone clearly indicates that the author didn't do their homework. For example, according to other reviews, this book describes SAS as one of the most spectacular companies. However, that is just the company's excellent PR at work. Obviously there was nothing resembling investigative journalism. To include SAS in this book when there is a wealth of unethical behavior, payoffs, etc. going on there is just lazy work by the authors and questions the entire book's credibility.

Summary: GUTS!: Courage that Pays Off
Review: With a whimsical design, irreverent humor, and a catalogue of companies straight from your dream-to-work-here list, GUTS! is a great read. But beyond its tremendous entertainment value, GUTS! is a book about how courage can pay off. In the book, Kevin and Jackie Freiberg tell the stories of current leaders in a variety of industries who have the vision to selectively ignore their industry's standard operating procedure, and do the right thing. The keys-to-success extolled in GUTS! are not rocket science (they include "hiring passionate people" and "having fun"). But because these great common-sense ideas are so rarely lived, the true stories of leaders with the guts to do so make for challenging and compelling reading. By drawing principles out of real, profitable companies, the Freibergs make their case credible. By profiling leaders in a huge range of industries (including a software company, a Honda dealership and an aircraft carrier), the Freibergs make their case universal. GUTS! convinces you that living your values is possible, motivates you to try, and gives you real action steps to move you down the path.

Summary: What a great book!
Review: With companies in the U.S. leaving for cheaper employees overseas, it was a pleasure to read this book and hear about the "good guys" who care about their employees and make a workplace where employees are encouraged to grow and be heard by their bosses. Congratulations to the Freibergs!
