Rating: Summary: Great book, excellent reference Review: This book is quite thorough for anatomy and although very wordy, I think it covers a lot of anatomical information that every med student should know. I used this book as a reference for learning the facts in my anatomy classes. I also found the following to be an excellent source: Spinal Anatomy Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers ISBN: 0971999600 The second book had similar type questions to my anatomy exams in med school. My advice is to get both books.
Rating: Summary: A well combined textbook with clinical comments Review: This book presents Anatomy regionally: the author describes the main regions of the body (unlike the systemic approach). The colored figures (several from classical Grant's Atlas) helps a lot the study of anatomy, and the clinical comments "makes the difference" between this book and the rest... but an accompaining atlas (Grants, Sobotta, Wolf-Heidegger, Yokoshi...) should be used by students. Frequently, readers get confused with so much cross-referenced materials throughout the text.
Rating: Summary: By far the best for primary care & emergency medicine Review: This book stands out in a crowded field. It is comprehensive, visually interesting (many color illustrations and diagrams), and has many sidebars highlighting clinical applications. I like to just thumb through it, and it's great for quick "look ups" and in-depth info as well. If I was marooned on a desert island and could take just one anatomy book with me, this one would be it!
Rating: Summary: The Bible Review: Without a doubt, the Bible for first year medical students. The book thoroughly breaks down everything you could possibly need to know for your anatomy course, and then some. Providing excellent clinical correlations in their blue boxes and end of the chapter case studies, this book is an absolute must to supplement your Netters, Rohen, and Chung.
