Rating: Summary: You need a magnifier to read the small print Review: There are plenty of words, but you'll need a new pair of glasses if you use it too much. Because it's too small, you have to continuously fold it to hold it open, and eventually it get worn down quickly.
Rating: Summary: USEFUL FOR INVESTORS AND MONEY MANAGERS Review: This "Dictionary of Finance and Investment Terms" offers accurate and concise definitions. John Downes and his colleagues did a good job in ensuring that all the important concepts and terms were tackled. This lexicon was designed to help both professionals and non-professional investors understand all the basic concepts that guide Money Management. With just over 5,000 terms, it may not be described as having extensive coverage, yet, its accuracy and portability are hard to beat. It has a good value. This is one dictionary that will meet the needs of most investors and money managers.
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Reference Review: This dictionary is an excellent reference for both professionals and students. This dictionary contains many examples that help explain the terminologies. This is the most comprehensive finance dictionary I have seen.

Rating: Summary: One Of The Best References Available Review: This handy guide is a worthwhile investment for anyone involved in the investment, banking or finance sector. Legal terms and jargon are both described in a clear and concise manner, allowing the reader to quickly gain an understanding of the subject at hand. An invaluable resource, readers will find themselves reaching for this book time and time again.
Rating: Summary: Out of college for years ? This is a MUST-HAVE Review: This is a must-have, if you 're out of college for years or you're in the field but forget the meaning of some terms sometimes and need a quick but thourough reference, this is THE one. Sure, you can find the same concept by spending 1/2 hour on the web searching for the meaning of some term, why don't just use this book for just 1/2 minute??? I like reading Fortune magazine and Harvard Business Review, but sometimes I came across some concepts that I couldn't understand, I looked up for the term on google.com, but it was so painful spending 1/2 hour for one term because my time is limitted. Then I got this book, and I never have to go online or call my friends up for the meaning of some financial terms, I'll just look it up in this dictionary. Don't underestimate this dictionary, it has everything you need as a professional or just a occasional reader of some finance magazines. Pick out Leveraged Buyout, I bet that if you don't know the term, you'll spend tons of time online to look for it, however, you'll have it in this dictionary. Another reason why this book is so great is that if you spend time online for the terms, you may not get an accurate meaning of the term and sometimes conflicting meaning because the very same term may be used in some other context. This book is strictly financial. I wrote this review as a payback for the authors for writing such a wonderful dictionary.
Rating: Summary: ...a very important and powerful tool Review: This is one little book that is worth it's weight in gold! The text not only defines words, it explains them too. Although it is a excerpt from the massive BARRON's HANDBOOK, this professionally bound soft cover book is easier to wield- it should be a part of every investors library!
Rating: Summary: A can't-do-without reference Review: This is the best small collection of finance terms available. I found it useful when I was still learning the basics of corporate finance and continue to use it as I become more expereinced. Every investment banking, commercial banking, or corporate finance professional should own this.
Rating: Summary: Great Tool When Dealing with Finance or Investment Review: Unless you work in finance and investment, it is virtually impossible to keep apprised of the terminology and jargon. Even if you do, it's probably fairly easy to come across some word that you do not know the meaning of or are uncertain as to its meaning. This handy reference book is perfect for both professionals and non-professionals who find themselves confronted with the often arcane verbiage of the finance and investment world. This book has frequently been of personal use to me in reviewing contracts for clients, as well as helping me when I stumble across some unknown term while reading. This is a nice little tool that should be on your shelf or in your pocket the next time you talk to someone about finances, investments, or even insurance.
Rating: Summary: Excellent quick reference Review: What I do for a living full-time is train broker trainees for passing the Series 7. I give conference calls on difficult material and answer questions via the phone all day. This book is an excellent supplement for Series 7 material. I recommend this book to all of my trainees and I use it on a daily basis. I have one for work, and one for home!
