Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Not a good book if your just learning.
Review: This was the first investment book I bought a few years back. The fundamental sections, regarding earnings growth is OK. The technical analysis sections are extremley un-clear, and poorly written. For example, he often talks about bases and recommends not buying a stock that is 5% above its base. The problem is he never really defines what constitutes a base. There are many more similar problems, and I promise that you will end up doing a lot of assuming. By the time you are done reading this book, you will have more questions than answers. Not a good way to build up confidence. If you are new to investing, you would be much better off buying a Motley Fool, book. If you are not new, and have already read several other books, I doubt you'll take anything worthwhile from this one.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great for beginners
Review: Good 1st book to read when starting to invest, you will need more technical information once you become serious about trading.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good system, but skip the promo piece
Review: Most of the book was very useful. A good discussion of how and why stocks move. (Though I can't comment about the investment results yet.) I could have done without the 20 page chapter promoting Investors' Business Daily. Throughout the book, O'Neil shamelessly promotes himself as a source of information, but almost all of the numbers you need are available on the Internet for free. Self-promotion and ignorance of the Internet are the reason I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 4.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: If you want to be a winner, Buy it.
Review: This is defenetly the best book I have read about stocks. William is one of the most experinced guys in our times and he shares all his knowledge with us by showing the CANSLIM syistem( the best).

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: His suggested system is a good starting point.
Review: This book leaves me with mixed feelings. The initial sections on CANSLIM are straightforward and make a fair amount of sense. However the technical analysis sections of the book are marred by a great deal of vagueness. For example, he shows pages and pages of charts, but often the suggested pattern is hard to see, or is ambiguous. He suggests different types of indicators like cup and handle, but doesn't mention simple ones like moving averages. Worst of all, rigour is limited. More explanations of relationships to the underlying economics or market would be appreciated.

Summary: A Very Good Book!
Review: Bill O'Niel has put together a excellent book for any investor regardless of experience, but particularly for the neophyte and absolutely for anyone who reads his equally excellent paper-IBD! I also highly recommend McMillion on Options, Bear Market Baloney and Wall Street Money Machine.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must for beginners
Review: It was the first and last book I read regarding the stock market. It gave me a great foundation on everything from reading charts to buying mutual funds. It is the best $9 I have ever spent, and I couldn't recommend this book enough for anyone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Highly informative; a must read for serious investors.
Review: This book is good for the new or experienced investor. From choosing a broker to advanced charting techniques, all information is spelled out in plain english so that all can benefit from his investing experience.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Informative, realistic approach to investing , no B.S.
Review: I would recommend this book to anyone from experienced investors to absolute beginners. It covers all areas of investing and proves you can start investing with very little money and watch your investments grow. Very good book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Best Book, and way undervalued!!
Review: This book should sell for $40 at least. Its an excellent book. It goes hand in hand with Bills paper, investors daily.

For example last month I was looking at stock recomened by his methods. A month later, stock such as lucent technologies went up like $20/share.
