Summary: Great book - Short and sweet!
Review: I read a lot of books who tend to fill-up pages with a lot of obscurity. This book is very different. To the point! Excellent. All the five temptations are absolutely valid -- speaking out of experience.
I saw a lot of testimonials in the front part of the book, but I can comfortably say that more than 90% of them don't practice it -- know it for sure!
Fact is that the five temptations that are mentioned are really temptations and people yield to temptations. So, hard to practice. But knowing those is definitely helpful, should you want to change one day to overcome those! Great book and will recommend to every one
P.S. The first book that I have read cover-to-cover in one stretch (1-1/2 hours), without taking even a coffee break!

Summary: Must Read for CEO's...this will change your life
Review: I read this book and it changed my entire management approach. It forced me to ask myself MANY questions about how I manage and I wound up really changing my management approach on several critical dimensions. I'm convinced this book had more influence over my management skills than ANY other book I've read. If you are honest with yourself and have the courage to identify things you could be doing better, this book is a MUST read. Its like 10 years of management experience in 4 hours...but I'd wait until you've managed at LEAST a few people before you read this. Otherwise, I'm not sure you would get what you are supposed to out of this brilliant, life-changing book.

Summary: Simple Story... Great Message!
Review: I think this is a must read book. Easy to read and entertaining. I really believe that at some point in our lives we all fall into one or more of the temptations. It is almost impossible to avoid them, mostly because we are unable to identify them. This book really opened my eyes and it will certainly open yours too.

Summary: Excellent management book for any type of leader
Review: I was thrilled to pick up this management book that not only had excellent principles, but an intriguing and enthralling storyline that kept me interested all the way to the finish. Five Temptations of a CEO proves an easy read-but certainly not lessons easily tossed aside. These are principles I'll keep with me-regardless of what job or leadership position I may occupy.

The story begins with a struggling CEO, Andrew O'Brien, on the eve of a big, year-end board meeting. Strange occurrences lead Andrew to take the metro system home that evening-and it's on the train where he encounters Charlie, a custodial engineer with a wealth of advice.

Andrew learns from Charlie five temptations that every manager, CEO, teacher, parent or coach might face along their way to success. These are basic temptations that seem very simple-and really are simple. Charlie teaches him that its not in looking for solutions in technology, budget, financials and other usual suspects common to a CEO, but in the common, everyday wisdom that every leader must have.

And for those readers who don't appreciate a good story-or who are just used to the textbook style management books-the five temptations are listed in a summary and self-assessment section in the back. But I won't spoil the ending...

Summary: The key is keeping it simple
Review: I wrote this book at the urging of my clients who found my five part model for executive success to be helpful in their careers. I decided to write a fable instead of a long, academic tome because I believe fables are great tools for learning, and because executives are busy and want to read something that is enjoyable and memorable. I'm extremely pleased at their reactions so far.

The five temptations themselves are simple behavioral issues that most leaders I've worked with struggle to overcome. Though they are simple in theory, they're extremely difficult to master in the day-to-day experience of running a company, or any organization. And while the temptations were derived from my work with CEOs and other senior executives, I have found that all kinds of people, from line managers to school teachers, can apply them in their professional lives.

I hope you enjoy the book, and want to read it again and again.

Review: Important advice for driving result

Summary: I really have to write one of these ...
Review: It constantly amazes me anyone would actually buy books such as this. There are maybe 2-3 days of work in this book--no handsome analogies, no clever turns of phrase, certainly no new thoughts ...

That said, I should stop complaining and write something. Maybe all the people who gave this piece of drivel positive reviews will give me their money.

Summary: write on Mr. Lencioni
Review: It is simply a fantastic book. The errors committed by many a modern day businessleader is so well communicated in the form of a fable. After a long time one has come across a practical book for CEOS and future CEOS. missing this book is like missing a trans-atlantic flight. Bad to miss and hard to put down once started.
i strongly recommend this to all middle and senior management folk in this world. All the same it would not harm if the modern day Politician who happen to be ceos of our countries also invested and read it. Am confident that this is going to take the no 1 spot on the best sellars list. move over"who moved my cheese.. u have competion.

Summary: Whew....incredibly clear message, powerful...wake up call!
Review: No amount of management theory books can be as powerful as a simple fable that you can read in an hour or two.

It has a very powerful and clear message...and really hits home...and makes you do a lot of soul searching...

Highly recommended.

Summary: Simply accurate and spellbinding
Review: Now matter what your position within an organization, soul searching using the fable is incredible. This book touched the areas of human weakness, the ones we never want to acknowledge. The faults that we struggle with each day are cleverly laid out so that we can find peace with them. The toughest temptation was to put this book down before I finished it. As is usual, finding faults within ourselves is tough, admitting to them is a tougher battle. This is a great book.
