Summary: Read this before you buy!
Review: ... I am glad I did not order this book, I wrote down some samples ofcontacts that was suggested would help an african american woman tostart a small business. I say this, "Wait for an updatedversion." This is the millennium programs and contacts havechanged drastically. If consumers will stop sending this guy moneyfor an outdated book maybe he will realize he needs to make an updatedversion. You reviewers who say that anyone giving this book a badreview are not willing to work are mistaken. I am willing to work, Ijust happen to think $40 something dollars is more then I am willingto pay for outdated programs and information.

Review: A terrible scam designed to provide specialized info useless to the average person. Want free money? Put the $$ this book costs in your pocket and get on with life....

Summary: A great book if you're willing to DO YOUR PART!
Review: I can't understand why a large number of prior reviewer are so unhappy with this book. If your assumption is that money will come falling out of the sky just by purchasing this book, then you will be just as disappointed as those who have such a negative opinion about this text. If you're looking to retire or quit your job off of the information in this book, you may be disappointed as well. I think the intent is mostly for those who want to look at an additional source of funding, NOT a primary source. For those of you who are willing to work at looking at available sources, making a phone call (or two, or three! ), and exerting some effort on your part, then this book should get you going in the right direction. One of the first pages of this book states in black and white that most of this will be outdated before you can use it, but with a little effort you can get the information you want. I know of a number of colleagues from all walks of life and various disciplines that found this book to be of tremendous help to them (funding research and personal interests by following the advice in this book), so the argument that it's only for specific people is not extremely accurate. You have to be willing to do your part in order for this text to work. If you anticipate this being similar to "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", where you sit for an hour or so and have money appear out of nowhere, you will be just as disappointed as the other reviewers of this text. YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK!

Summary: Life is not a game show
Review: This is not a printed version of "Do You Want to Be a Millionaire?" It's based on the assumption that you want to CHANGE your life for the better, and are willing to take action to do so. You have to exercise your intellect, your intuition, your initiative, and your skills in (1) deciding which life-changing activities you want money for, (2) selecting the best possibilities for funding them, and (3) filling out applications, writing grant proposals, or something similar. I found the book a very useful compilation: while the information is available elsewhere, it's often hard to find, and this book not only put it all together but allowed you to make comparisons easily. While some of the addresses and phone numbers are out of date, that's inevitable in any printed reference work, and (in my experience) this book was better than average. If you want to transform your life, and just need the money to do so, this book can show you how to get it. But if you're contented to remain a couch potato, and want to do it in a bigger house with a wide-screen TV, sorry; you might as well save your money and buy a lottery ticket.

Summary: Lame
Review: I had great deal of skeptism when I saw this, however in a weak moment I thought I let faith take the lead. I'm not sure how to put in words but this was LAME! This book is poorly organized and close to a yellow pages book, nothing but useless advice, 1136 pages of address fluff. This book is not only disappointing but a complete rip off.

Summary: Don't waste your money!
Review: This book never says how all those people got all that money in the advertisements. All it does is give you a list of addresses, and in most cases didn't even specify what you needed to say when you wrote them. It was really disappointing to see such a fat book with no useful information inside it. The least Lesko could have done was specify what each address was for or how his examples were able to get their money. In many cases, getting this "free money" is a lot more work than just knowing where to write. It just gets people's hopes up. However, it could be useful to someone who doesn't know how to use the Internet or ask their local librarian, but if you can get the information somewhere else I wouldn't give Lesko a dime of your money for such a waste of trees.

Summary: rip off or up?
Review: Sorry but this one is a let down. It is not enough to be black,Hispanic,Unemployed,Female or frog covered prince. To get any use from this book you'd need to be all of the above. I now know why Lesko is running in most of his ads. A moving target is hard to hit. Does he seem nervous to you?

Summary: What A Joke!
Review: If you are a one-eyed one-legged Black woman living in public housing in Alabama and your grandmother is part Cherokee, this book is for you. Otherwise forget it.. You will get more money holding up a liquor store than you will by reading this book... A lot of hype and no pay off..

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Free Money? Not This Time
Review: The only one receiving money on this deal is Matthew Lesko. I would strongly urge readers to look in other places if they are in search of free money. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow would be easier to obtain.
