Summary: How To Make Money Without Buying This Book
Review: I'll tell you have to make a quick buck for free. First, write a book with false and misleading information. Second, get a funny coat and run around Washington DC taking like a crazy man about this book and get it on TV. There you have it, an instant money-maker. That's the only money-making SCHEME I learned from this book.

Summary: Just the same as every other scam out there...
Review: Just because Lesko appears on TV and has not been raided by the marines and shut down (yet) does not mean almost all the information in his books and tapes is not total garbage. The people on the TV advertisements were actors. If you send swarms of mail to strange places begging for grants you may get in trouble your self. Advice....stay clear of this trap turn Lesko in to whomever you can.

Summary: Don't waste your money
Review: It was terrible! I purchased it thinking there really was all this free money out there to help me start a business. Not only was there not, but I didn't qualify for any of the programs he had listed. He had lots of loans that you can get, but in my definition that is not the same thing as free money. I was very disappointed, even wrote to the company to complain - they didn't even bother responding. It has suggestions like go get welfare, or unemployment - it was a complete waste of money.

Summary: WASTE OF TIME & MONEY
Review: People, before you buy this book, please read my review carefully. I spent ($)on this book, and I probably spent another ($) on call charges calling 411 to get phone numbers that were all out of date on this ridiculous 1150 pages waste of trees. The only person getting "Free Money" from this book is Matthew Lesko. Another thing, doesnt "Free Money" mean money that does not cost you anything? Well, everything listed in this book is a loan. Please do yourself a favor, and look elsewhere for a legitimate grants book.

Summary: A Critical Review of These Reviews
Review: Which personalities and temperaments will prove either suited or unsuited to any sort of work, no less the arduous task of prospecting for grants? What, if anything, might even prove intellectually stimulating and there fore satisfying and pleasurable in whatever proposed activity? Indeed, one might even hope for all the more such job satisfaction, the more grinding the work, no less than simply to make more money for one’s greater travail.

Even the lamest Affiliate Marketing programs may even profit those few that are just pathologically determined. (Those who engage in eager and relentlessly self manipulation with the help of the same Motivational Literature that ordinary people regard as deceptively enthusiastic and misrepresentational of far greater ease than the unvarnished truth might reveal.) But such assessment is indiscriminate, and not much recommendation for any one “opportunity” over any other, nor of any such a way of life, sometimes called “faith”.

Thus, for those who offer testimonial in support of Lesko’s book to attack the charracter of those who where disappointed with it, is neither helpful nor informative.

A common draw back to be found in all manner of business programs, is that they fail to specifically identify the hardships and challenges of whatever proposed undertaking, the time required and monetary expenditures to be expected, and whatever general knowledge and skills that are simply assumed.

A common complaint about Lesko’s book is that the sources are narrowly targeted for very specific minorities and needy situations, though others claim otherwise, citing testimonials of acquaintances, but without explanation in terms of the information in the book.

More over, Sylvia Leal from Texas complains that Lesko remains vague about exactly how grants where obtained, beyond offering a directory of sources. But twocrows90 from OH disagrees, asserting that “Mr. Lesko gives you information about how to handle phone calls, getting organized and motivated, as well as hundreds of other "before you start" topics at the very beginning of the book. I found that if you got through the book from beginning to end THEN go back to the parts that pertain to your area of interst you have a very useful tool to start working your way through the goverment grant and loan maze.“

However, Talon Braunsman from Florida recommends that one might do best to begin with some purpose, meaning some general plan to further refine, before hand. “This book will open your eyes and mind if you have some goals in mind” amplifies allenman123 from usa. Which is to suggest that a great deal of prior research is requisite for Lesko’s book to actually useful. All of which may actually imply that Lesko’s book is little help in beginning from scratch to find a new direction.

Is Lesko’s book only of any help, then, for grant prospectors who are already at some sort of semi-professional level of prior groundwork? Indeed, it should come as no surprise if prospecting for grants only follows at an advanced point in career development and research. In that case, simply comparing the merits of different available information resources makes perfect sense, but premature for beginners. And perhaps exploitative of Lesko, unless such a caveat is explicit.

Otherwise, there is a lot of ground to cover. And many, it seems, who find themselves completely baffled! And if only they are kept busy beyond the deadline for refund, then it should hardly be surprising if such as they will end up feeling cheated.

Summary: ...
Review: Apparently it's not possible to get government assistance unless you're so dull-witted you need Mr.Lesko's help and since he gets [something] per book, having sold over nine thousand copies should set "him" free of any cash-flow problems...uh-huh.
I think this book targets people who desperately need help and are willing to use their last dime to "hopefully" find a better way. It's pretty "vulturistic" to coin a word - been there/done that...wish I had the money now!

Summary: Tons of great info. if you take the time to read it all!
Review: Before buying Mr. Lesko's book I read all of the reviews listed here on Amazon.com. Since it seemed about split 50/50 as to the usefullness of this book I thought it best to check it out at my library. After only reading through 1/2 of the book and marking down the pages I would like to copy information from I found it would be much cheaper to buy my own copy. Mr. Lesko gives you information about how to handle phone calls, getting organized and motivated, as well as hundreds of other "before you start" topics at the very beginning of the book. I found that if you got through the book from beginning to end THEN go back to the parts that pertain to your area of interst you have a very useful tool to start working your way through the goverment grant and loan maze. Yes, some of the phone numbers and contacts have changed but that is true of the goverments own publications also! You can go straitght to the internet (something you can do for free at the library) and get updated information and make contacts as well as fill forms and submit them. Yes it is a lot of work and reading but I have found it to be well worth it for myself, my family, and friends!

Summary: Free BS
Review: This book is a bunch of BS. The only thing good about it is the commercial and the Matthew Lesko's energy level put into the promotion of the book in order to make money from the book sales.

Summary: Free Money to Change Your Life
Review: Beware-this book contains incorrect information! I work for a city government office that enforces civil rights. Recently we have been flooded by letters from women (especially single mothers) who want to go back to school and are looking for grants. We do not provide any sort of grants or monetary assistance to either help people go back to school or start businesses. If this is the kind of information contained in this book, I wonder if there are other errors as well.

Summary: Oh.....Hell NO!
Review: Not even worth the time I spent opening the cover. I'm glad I borrowed it from the library. I hope my review keeps someone from being highly pissed and hurt to the core. How can a book so thick contain so much garbage? This book didn't tell you what to say and some of the contacts are wrong. I had one that I sent for info returned to me. Lesko is a BOZO!!!
