Summary: There's no such thing as a free lunch?
Review: Do you people honestly believe that the government is going to give you free money to start a for-profit business? All this book contains is NON-PROFIT grant information and government LOAN guarantee programs. If you don't believe me, at least go to your local library first and hire this book before you buy it!

Summary: Waste of Time and Money
Review: The best way to check all of Lesko's books is through the library, which is what I did. It became evident that information listed in his books is available through government and state agencies for FREE!!!! Also note, there is no such thing as FREE when it comes to so-called government giveaways. There is always a catch.....

Summary: Government Giveaways for Entrepreneurs IV
Review: I am convinced the only favorable reviews of Lesko's books were submitted by he himself. Yes this book and his others have a place on a library reference shelf, but the average Joe or Joanne will not find enough in the books for themselves to justify the purchase price. Stop funding the question mark wardrobe. Spend your money on almost any other book!

Summary: As seen on TV
Review: When an obnoxious geek, wearing a jacket emblazoned with question marks tells me that the government has money set aside for me - I'm going to listen.

Little did I know that the government will pay for me to do the things that I've always wanted to do. Here I am, actually saving my hard earned money, when all I had to do was read Matthew Lesko's book to make my life-long dreams a reality.

"$100,000 to start a home based business?"
Great! No more shirt and tie for me... it's pajamas and bed-head for me from this day forward!

"$8,000 in grants for free legal advice?"
This is wonderful news! I should have my ex-wife's restraining order torn up in no time.

"$75,000 housing grants to remodel your house?"
So I got a little careless with the chainsaw after a night of Jagermeister... Matthew Lesko to the rescue!

"$140,000 to open a bookstore?"
Fantastic! I'm not what you'd call a "reader", but if Lesko knows someone that'll pick up the tab, why not?

"$6,000 in government grants for college tuition?"
My dad says I'm not smart enough to go to college. I'll show you, dad!

"$2000 in grants to study music?"
Outstanding! With concert ticket prices skyrocketing... Limp Bizkit, here I come!

"Free Money to Change Your Life" leaves no stone unturned. This book has all the answers to life's problems and more! The only question left unanswered is - What U.S. Government grants do you want the Government to grant to you?

And be sure to check out Lesko's other book, "Free Stuff For Pet Lovers", a must-have for pet lovers.

Summary: You have a better chance winning the lottery!
Review: I gave this book a little crdibility because I saw this guy on Oprah. DON'T! I bought this book thinking I would have a good chance on receiving money for college or starting my own business. Boy was I wrong! You have a better chance winning the lottery than qualifying for this free money. When ever someone tells me they are going to buy this book I tell them, if you have three arms, one purple eye and live in a space ship, you have a chance to this FREE MONEY. The qualifications, I think are unrealistic. Don't waste your money.

Summary: First use of free money from government
Review: People - want your first lesson on free money? Go to your public library and order the book FOR FREE. Read the book and you will see (like I saw) that it is a piece of garbage. If you truly like it then order it for yourself. No sense in putting down [price] or so to come back here and complain about how you lost your money. So my first free lesson to you is use your government library and save yourself some money.

Summary: Was totally useless to me--deserves zero stars.
Review: I bought this very large, heavy guide believing that if I did the work necessary I would be able to get money for college. I also hoped to get grant money to improve up my "fixer-upper" home which is in an economically depressed city. I thought owning a home in a city that has actually gone bankrupt would give me a chance for some grant money. No way! I was very depressed to find that money for fixing up homes like mine is given to the state/cities and then I have to apply for a LOAN! This is what I was trying to avoid!

As far as money for college, that was a waste of time too. There is nothing there, except some foundation grants that aren't even listed under my state. The rest are the regular run-of-the-mill grants that you can apply for at any college.

Matthew Lesko stated on TV that if one is handicapped, as I am, then money is available. I found only one entry intended for hearing impaired people.

The entries for grants are listed by foundations giving out money in each state, and not all states have listings.

Matthew Lesko uses deceptive advertising to sell this book, and I suspect, his other ones as well. Don't waste your money on this garbage! I don't know why Amazon.com even bothers to carry Lesko's titles.

Summary: Free lunches aren't this easy
Review: It's disappointing to see somebody try to make money off exploiting government programs. First of all, most government programs involve loans, and those that actually provide grants of course expect you to do something the government considers socially useful. If you're a person that can do things the society wants, you're probably not stupidly looking for free money from a book. Of course, Mr. Lesko knows that the kind of person looking for a free handout is pretty easy to trick, and I have no sympathy for such people. I do, however, feel bad for the person who simply wants help starting a legitimate business and was duped into thinking the government will just hand you cash to do so.

Summary: It Delivered
Review: All I can say is that some of the information in this book helped me. But, like any other self-help book, you have to actually apply the information or it is completely worthless. No 5 star rating because many of the phone numbers in it are wrong, but that didn't suprise me.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Not Worth A Cent
Review: This book is nothing but misleading garbage. If you really feel like sifting through 1100 pages of adresses and phone numbers to find the one grant that you MIGHT qualify for only to find that the information is outdated, then you should enjoy this book. A complete waste of time and energy.
