Summary: Incredibly informative and helpful - best real estate book!
Review: This was the best real estate book I ever read! I saved a lot of money when buying my home with the information I learned in this book. I read a number of books to learn about real estate before buying my home and this was far better than all of them. I recommended it to three of my friends. The CD-Rom has all the benefits of a book plus digital color photos with full search and zoom features that I loved and made reading the book much better.

Review: We have a home inspection business and all of our inspectors use this book to learn what they need to know. Even people new to the business of home inspections can learn everything they need to know quickly and extensively with this book. There are many photographs which are explained in detail showing problem conditions and repair issues. A picture is worth a thousand words - which is certainly true with this book because it's a lot easier to understand any technical items discussed in the book with the many photos with their written explanations. You can't go wrong with this one!

Review: We have one of the busiest appraisal and home inspection companies in our area. We exclusively work for mortgage lenders and banks who are very picky about getting high quality reports and evaluations. We have been using this "A to Z" appraisal book and the "A to Z" inspection book for years as MANDATORY reading for all of our appraisers and home inspectors when we hire and train them. It's the simplest to understand and the most thorough covering all necessary topics that we have found on the market. This book will tell you the realities of evaluating real estate without giving you a bunch of fluff - that's why we like it so much. Our appraisers and inspectors get years of expertise and knowledge in one book without having to make the mistakes they would to learn from their own experiences. It saves us a lot of time in getting our employees up to speed with doing professional reports and evaluations for our banking clients. We can't afford to send our clients poor quality reports since there's a lot of competition in our business. This book keeps us at the top of our game and keeps our clients happy.

Review: When I bought this book I never realized how much advice I would get from it. I saved two thousand dollars when purchasing a home by following this advice and I was able to detect problems that the home inspector I hired didn't even find. My home inspector was very embarrased when I pointed out problems that he didn't detect.

Review: When I was shopping for a new home I bought this book based upon a recommendation I read in a book review article. I found it to be very thorough and covered every topic imagineable. You'll learn how to inspect real estate for repair and maintainence problems plus how to identify safety hazards. This book will teach you like an expert. I can now make sure the contractors I hire are doing quality work and not just rely on what they tell me. Get it, you won't regret it!

Review: When I was thinking about becoming a home inspector I checked out all of the books I could find on the topic. This book was fantastic and really tells you the truth about becoming a home inspector and how to inspect your own home. I recommend this book to my all of my home inspection clients so they can use it while living in their homes. I even keep several copies of the book on CD at my office to send out with my inspection reports to inspector clients that want to buy it and review it with their reports.
