Summary: It wasn't what I thought it would be
Review: I bought this book because I was having trouble understanding my college textbook. I don't see any difference between the two. If you are looking for a book with "human" language that will break down concepts for you, this is not it.

Summary: great book!
Review: I knew nothing about statistics before and this book really helped me to find out more about statistics. It was also great that when I did not understand something, I could write to Prof. Jaisingh and he was always very helpful. This book is really great because there are many exercises at the end of each chapter and if you can do them, then you really understand what you have learnt in that specific chapter.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great for basic statistices but not for more in depth stats.
Review: I purchased this book to help me in the second part of a two part course. The info in the book looks great, but unfortunately the info in the book stopped where I started at the begining of this semester. If you are looking for something to help with more in depth statitics, such as ANOVA analysis, then this book would not be of much help.

Summary: Don't take statistics without it.
Review: I took a statistics correspondence course for credit. The study guide made no sense to me. I finally got online and found this book. I was hesitant, because like the computer instructions you get, Statistic instructors think they are dummying it down for us but are only dummying it down for them. I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the quesions at the end. You are able to apply the knowledge immediately and get feedback. I received an A in the course, and not from the expensive study guide that I bought that was supposed to help me pass.
Any average person who is required to take statistics should get this book. If it helped me, it will help anyone. Thanks Dr. Jaisingh

Summary: A Great Investment for Business Stats Students
Review: I was "utterly confused" until I purchased this book. However, when I followed the instructions on how to complete problems provided by Dr. Jaisingh I gained a greater understanding of statistics. Dr. Jaisingh did a wonderful job of putting this book together. It is easy to read and the problems are almost self-explanatory. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has to take Business Statistics. You did a great job Dr. Jaisingh, I was very impressed.

Summary: Be confused no more!
Review: I was thrown into a Six Sigma initiative recently. My limited memory of Statistics was one of fear and dread. However, I picked up Statistics for the Utterly Confused... and I am no longer confused. Written similar to "Dummie" books, it's easy to follow, easy to understand, and comes with quizzes to measure how well you're grasping concepts.

Most of the recommendations for this book are for Business Statistics classes. My recommendation is for this book to be passed out to every person without a Math degree that is involved with Six Sigma. The book even gives tips for using it with Minitab and a Stats calculator.

Be confused no more about Statistics, pick up this book!

Summary: They laughed when I called up Excel ...
Review: I'd read and digested the excellent Cartoon Book of Stats and was ready to move on to something heavier but not too professional. I'm running a customer service survey that needs knowledgeable slicing and dicing of the data and some convincing chatter to wow the top brass. This book empowers and informs.

Summary: Not bad if you're truly utterly confused
Review: If you've never taken a basic stats class (or have forgotten it all, as most people do), then this book is a pretty good option. But if you need to learn or brush up on more than descriptive statistics, this would not be for you. This book helped me to get all the basic concepts clear in my mind again, but when I had real-world analysis to do, there wasn't enough meat. I was glad I read it, but really had no use afterwards.
